Lines at the stores -- Looks like the Nexus is selling out!

Waiting in the parking lot at Best Buy in Springfield, Oregon. Just me, some dude with a pony tail & a drifter. This is the complete opposite of those Samsung commercials.

My store didn't even know they were on sale yet, and didn't have any in stock. They ordered one for me though, and I was told it would be here tomorrow. No big rush for the the Nexus in my town I guess!

Went to the local indy dealer last night and worked an early upgrade from my Fascinate. Their shipment comes in at noon today and one gets my name tacked to it right away.

I was surprised by how many people showed up at my store. By opening there were about 20 people in line, and many more showed up in the first 10-20 minutes after opening. Store handled it very quickly and efficiently.

Re: line at stores

Lol, you probably saw me cruise in, survey the joint, and quickly depart! The line must have formed like a flash mob at 8:45...

EDIT: My online order shipped within 30 minutes of placing it. But I'm going to head back down to L street now and see if I can score some facetime with the demo unit.

Wow, glad I didn't wait till after work to try the Penn Quarter location, they'd probably be sold out. Ordered online at 1:30am, hoping to get it early tomorrow.

That's because the lines in the commercials are for the iPhone. Kinda hard to stir up iPhone like excitement when no one but us fanatics know of its release.

Haha I grew up in Eugene and I can understand that that is the current composition of characters waiting in the BB line in Springfield haha

Re: line at stores

AH, stupid Verizon, the don't open until 10, so I'm back at work for another 35 minutes. AH, they opened at 9 before and online it says 9.

So I'm an idiot apparently. They did open at 9 and I didn't see their holiday hours, so I would have been the first to get one if I would have just stayed in the parking lot. Oh well, I still got one...

The store I went to only had 3 people waiting on the nexus.

Oh yay, it looks like I get to be the first person here to say I got screwed by lack of stock.

Hour and a half waiting in line. (Outside. Cold.) Finally get inside, wait a few more minutes, get to a sales rep, he checks the stock room ... no more. Person before me got the last one.

Yes, I'm always "that guy".

Edit: Forgot to mention: Wall Street, NY store. If you're in the city and haven't already lined up yet today, call ahead and do a stock/line check, sounds like most are running low fast.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure the store on 34th was sold out too. I got there at 8:30 when they opened, and there was already a line like 25-30 people. As I was checking out, they ran out and there was still a line of 15-20 people waiting for devices.

Re: line at stores

L Street, DC - Roughly 20 ppl in line by 0845 (I was 8th or thereabouts) and total of about 40 in store by the time I got my phone. Asked rep if they had a large inventory of GN and he said they probably had enough for the customers in the store but unsure after that.

the F street store wasn't crowded. Only four people in line when they opened the doors at 8:40. By the time I left, 9:05 there was probably only 8 people in the store.

No line in so cal. Another guy in parking lot waiting in his car. Keeps looking at me. Might have to give him a forearm shiver if he tries to get to the door first.
