YES. I'm glad someone else noticed. I called this out in the other thread...SO freaking annoying. I used this every night, and now that the bottom buttons stay lit, i don't feel like leaving it on all night. WTF.

Ok, have to add a few here gang.

- Notifications font - smaller. Ok, I guess that could be good, but .. seems a waste if that now-unused screen real estate isn't reclaimed. They've made the font smaller (re: harder to see/read), but the savings isn't realized by making the notification row shorter - so more notifications fit on the screen.

- Sound volume for me is lower in every category, despite no changes in the levels sliders. Really annoying.

- New "paged" apps list really slows you down as you scroll through your apps. You're forced to pause at each page. Pain.

Does anyone know how to disable the "dialer" thing?

More importantly what does it do? Besides eat battery! Haha.

Thanks!

1 - battery life is better
2 - Stitcher doesn't quit every 10 minutes
3- 4G is solid.
4- 3G is solid (see 2)

This is the phone that I was hoping for when I bought it in March.... and it's now almost October.

I like how the Verizon icons are separated from the others. I like how clean it is and I will get used to it.
I am seeing more battery life. Normally in 6.5 hours up to 7 hours am at 65% use. Today I was at 83% after 6.5 hours and although I was in my orientation, phone was still on even though vibrate and I was on it at our break times. I haven't been at that great battery life prior to the new update.
And....I am glad I didn't take the replacement. My phone is doing ok..........now !:)

My capacitive screen locked and when I tried to open a folder or start a program.....it did nothing. I went to GoLauncher and it worked there.....just not in Sense

I used to have a "Search People" app but since the update I can no longer find it! Anyone else notice this?

Funny enough I guess Im the only one getting WORSE battery life.Yesterday when I got off work and plugged in the phone it had been unplugged for like 17hr and I was under 50% left. Before the update it was easy to go 40+ hours and still have 30% left on my battery. With the extended battery of course.

My phone used to rotate to landscape when in my car dock,... Not any more. Anyone know a way to get that back?

Wasn't a great day to test mine yesterday, but hope to today. Early impressions, though, are that it definitely isn't any better here.

Don't know. Hopefully will be addressed in the now-standard fix-after-the-fix maintenance release.

One of the best features of this phone is the car mode UI when plugged into the card dock. I was starting to get really PO'd when it didn't work after the GB update. Not sure if this is what you are referring too but for me I was able to get it to work by unplugging the charger first then docking.

Battery life is definitely better. I'm going on 11 hours with the standard battery and still at approx. 70%. Previously with MR2, it would be more around 50%. The data connection seems more stable now too. It doesn't drop in and out of 3G as often and it's maintaining a solid 3G connection inside the building at work where before it used to struggle to hold 3G and would slip in and out of 1x most of the time. Overall operation of the phone does seem a bit smoother.

The only issue so far is that the stock weather app no longer updates when launched, nor is there a setting for it anymore. It's a bit of a pain now as you have to manually hit the sync button to update it.

3G signal seems a skosh more stable at my desk at work. Battery does not seem to be depleting as fast but it's the first full charge so time will tell on that.

Skype front-facing video worked perfectly. Can't wait for the fix in Google Talk on that, though.

So far, very happy with the smoother GPS and the other little tweaks, but this isn't really the upgrade I expected or hoped for.

I would find the separation of vzw apps from downloaded apps more useful if they remained separate with dock visible when adding an app to a home screen. It could save some scrolling. As is I see no advantage to the dock in the app drawer.

I wish they made the home screen dock customizable as was once promised (then erased from features) .

I preferred the old gmail icon in the notifier bar. (No biggie)

I see no difference in battery life.

So far my data connectivity has been better than before.

Light flow (an app I like) doesn't work with gb in htc phones. Htc locks up led control. Only company that does.

Overall I see no advantage to gb EXCEPT improved data connectivity. IF that continues to hold true that alone would more than make up for the mediocre improvements this update offered.

Yep. And I deleted all except Wiki. It also added ESPN, CNN, some weird VZW mobile home page, a My Verizon, and a second Google, all of which I dumped, too.
