My gps is hosed! None of the posted gps hacks via dialer codes or creating a short cut to lbstest work (i don't even see lbstest as a service/app to link to). I thought I'd reach out before trying to revert back....

I had this same concern, and still do. When I first got in my car after the update, I still had the Bluetooth issues. I unpaired them on the phone and deleted the device from the vehicle's SYNC. I then repaired them. On the two calls that I made since then I had no problems, but we'll see if it stays that way through the weekend.
Coming from EB13... I've only flashed the EC03 modem (running SyndicateROM 1.0.2) and I haven't noticed much of a battery/signal difference, but one thing was FINALLY fixed for me--my WiFi "Turning on Wifi..."/"Error" issue.
On any EB13 ROM, after a while, trying to switch on WiFi would result in the WiFi settings page to display "Turning on WiFi..." for several minutes before showing "Error." I would usually have to toggle Airplane mode to get it to turn on again, but sometimes, when that didn't work, I would have to reboot the phone.
On EC03, I can toggle WiFi on and off as many times as I want without a hitch.
On any EB13 ROM, after a while, trying to switch on WiFi would result in the WiFi settings page to display "Turning on WiFi..." for several minutes before showing "Error." I would usually have to toggle Airplane mode to get it to turn on again, but sometimes, when that didn't work, I would have to reboot the phone.

FINALLY got it here in NY, NY at 2am on 3/25/11 after waiting since I got Epic on "day 1". My bug is that my "Google acct" doesnt recognize my password so I cant get to Gmail, Andr. Market, etc cause box keeps popping up asking to verify my Google acct & password! Weird! Any advice?
I flashed late last night using a full wipe via Odin.
The battery seems to last longer since I fell asleep with 4G on and there is still some power left.

Then your phone is hosed, because I have not read anywhere on any forum of anyone saying their gps is hosed, in fact, the exact opposite.

Like my vibrate is hosed on my phone. Didn't work on DI18, EB13 and now EC05. I don't have any insurance but do remember hearing that Samsung warranties the phone up to a year. My question is whether I should send it to Samsung and have a long wait for it or bring to a sprint tech and take my chances with them for a $35 fee?
Ok so sport mode works - never used it.

a lot of people have had issues with windows 7 64 bit and getting their phone work properly on their computer. i think it has to do with the drivers. if you have a computer with vista or windows 7 32 bit i would try that.
I've noticed when I pinch to zoom on the default browser I get a lot of checkerboard. But when I use dolphin its fine. Not a big problem but I was just wondering if others were having the same issue
Manual update to EC05 hosed 3G on roaming.
Didn't want to wait for OTA. Updated from EB13 to EC05 using the Paul's manual method with Odin w/o data wipe. Everything works great EXCEPT 3G roaming on Verizon. Where I work, there is no Sprint signal but there are Verizon repeaters. Before updating to EC05, I could get data while on Verizon. After update, voice only on roaming. 3G/4G work ok on Sprint. Tried to update PRL and got an error. I'm about to toss this Epic failure.

Man! I couldn't happier with my EB13 (from Samsung update.zip) to EC05 (AC's Odin with the no data loss version) upgrade.
1) GPS locks better in weak locations in my house
2) Camera/video lag/slow screen rotation has been fixed (on EB13 I had to install 2 patches and one recalibration thru terminal emulator to fix those problems)
3) I haven't tried the stock browser yet because I don't use it - I use Dolphin with no problems in checker boarding - edited: I just tried my stock browser and if I try hard enough I can see just a little checker boarding on the right side of my screen ever so slight for a split second or so when I pinch and zoom - maybe it is difficult for me to see more because my connection is so good (I get super wifi, 4G, and 3g signal) - but absolutely no checkerboarding in Dolphin my browser of choice
4) It seems slightly faster and smoother in the apps drawer when scrolling
5) Battery life at idle - I used to get a 2.2% loss every hour, now I get about a 1% loss every hour - so it seems like overall battery life should be way better and I use to get great battery life
5) my LP still asks me to select force close, wait or ignore? when I change batteries or on its 1st boot or reboot since EB13 - but once LP reloads its perfect no matter what I do until the next restart either thru a battery change or a power off power on situation
6) I don't know if I will still get my text messages in my call log like before - but I think I will - I hate that! Eclair's call logging system was so nice, I miss that
7) My BT voicedialing worked before and works now - so no problems there either
8) Gallery seems to be able to hold the cached thumbnails again and is as fast as eclair 2.1 - yeah!!!
So I am a happy camper - but I need more than a day with this new upgrade to really be sure, but the signs are looking good.
To all that have problems, my belief is that if you had problems in certain areas before, upgrading won't fix those. And for those that didn't have any problem before, you probably won't. In other words don't expect the upgrade to fix a gps problem if you had that problem before you upgrade.

that is a known froyo issue. lots of people are having that problem

when you say smoother app drawing, do you mean through the homescreens or through the app drawer? to me, nothing has compared to the smooth scrolling Eclair 2.1 provided (even better than my friend's iPhone 4).
i have found that I use sprintID for the stock launcher because it provides a smoother framerate when swiping homescreens. i hope CM7 has hardware acceleration because that would solve the issue all together.
One thing I like about EC05, it fixed my secondary gmail sync problem... unfortunately, I'm running a eb13 based rom right now (cause I like it) and the problem is back :/.

No I said app drawer in my post and I do mean app drawer - but I also don't have any problems in home screens either - I can't remember Eclair 2.1, but I know it was super smooth then also - but I have always used LP - Touch Wiz has always been slower and not as responsive IMHO
