and if you DO get it, download it but before you actually apply it connect the phone to your computer and fish the update fine out of your cache folder and share with the rest of us :)

Hoping this isn't just a cruel joke...I can't believe no one on here has gotten the update yet.

OTA updates are rolled out over a 2 week period and not in any specific order. Just because someone gets it today or tomorrow, you may not see it until a few days or week later...

I am sure it will come in a few hours, VZW is notoriously stingy on updates with major phones since demand of them is so high. They create a random list of IMEI's for the phones and then little by little send them the update notifications (thus easing the load on their servers). Until it is your turn checking for updates does not work. Most people are so excited to get the update they just download and install them without thinking and the download file is deleted from the cache folder when the phone reboots. A few tech savvy people also know where to find the original downland URL in the log files and sometimes send that info. Be patient it is coming :)

I believe you will see people getting it at midnight or when the wake up tomorrow morning.

Hasn't Verizon normally started the update around 9pm as they are ending their CS workday shortly after and pushed out very slowly that first evening? I mean obviously if the company like HTC or Samsung controls the timing maybe it would be different but everything I have been told it VZ has the final say on when the OTA update is pushed because it is handled completely by them. I would think it would start 9pm or Midnight and continue from there over next few weeks.

I think it is best not to over-analyze things like this. It will drive you nuts ;) It will come when it comes....

I have almost always gotten updates in the morning or early in the day. It doesn't really make sense to pull the trigger at the end of the workday of your support staff. If people have issues they will have a dead phone overnight and no one to talk to about it.

Oh not over analyzing it just saying this is how they just did the OTA for Samsung Froyo it started at 9pm. Being as you have it listed on your using phones you know this :P

I'm pretty sure I got mine the next day but yeah I remember reading something to that effect

Ive always thought these OTAs were by order of activation. Being that I got the phone since day one and first to get activated at the store, I'm thinking I should be in the first batch of OTA. Could be wrong. lol

so to double check , if we do this update it will unroot our phone right? i did the leaked ruu update a couple of weeks ago and it's probablly the same thing. but since i did the update my battery has been crap. i'm wondering if i do this update and unroot my phone maybe this will help improve the battery. because the battery was pretty good before i rooted and updated.

i'm looking forward to seeing how this affects the overall performance and battery time.

I seem to remember that Verizon usually sends out a small sample of updates on day 1 and stop. They wait about 24 hours to see if they get any calls into their call center regarding issues due to the update. If none, they continue rolling out Day 3 to Day 14.
