Live OTA Thunderbolt Check In Here Please

i'm looking forward to seeing how this affects the overall performance and battery time.

There is nothing in the Update release notes that indicate it addresses what some users perceive us a battery issue. It us pretty clear from hundreds of posts that the battery issue for most goes away when they learn how to properly configure the device and are realistic about expectations for powerful, large screen smartphones.

Ive always thought these OTAs were by order of activation. Being that I got the phone since day one and first to get activated at the store, I'm thinking I should be in the first batch of OTA. Could be wrong. lol

No offense, but I wish people would stop repeating this rumor:

* It has nothing to do with when it was bought (launch day or yesterday, it does not matter)
* It has nothing to do with who you bought it from (Verizon, Best Buy, ZWireless, it does not matter)
* It has nothing to do with where you live in the country
* It has nothing to do with the hardware version, PRL, or any of that stuff
* It IS a completely randomly generated list of IMEI's of the phones
* If you are running a custom rom then NO you wont get the update notification. It pings your phone and if it determines you are not running the version it expects then you will (most likely) not get the update.
* Yes if you are rooted you will most likely loose root and if you are rooted it would be a good idea to manually unroot since sometimes being rooted messes things up with updates.
* You may or may not be able to re root using the same method

as excited as i originally was for this update, i then realized it will add nothing to the UI of the phone (like Eclair to Froyo to Gingerbread), but more of just behind the scenes stuff addressing things i never really experienced (email issues, for one)...

now i'm like, meh. i'll be happy to get it, but it's not going to change the overall experience of the phone in a giant way. but yes, i will be happy to fix the camcorder audio issue.

i want the camcorder fix and i think the 3g fix will help battery life. My phone tries to grab 3g at work and it can not find it and keeps trying to find 4g.

I am thinking this will help.

find it a little funny how out phone was released nearly 2 months ago and gingerbread almost 5 months ago yet we still dont have it. It only took htc 3 months for the incredible and evo. Gingerbread is what I am mainly focused on, sure i hope this update helps witha few issues i have but not going crazy over it.

I just got off the phone with VZW and the rep told me that they pushed out updates to 100,000 phones yesterday. Today they are checking to see if there were any issues with the first wave of updates. They did say if all is good, they will send out to another 100,000 phones. They will then have another day for checking for issues. After that they will release another 100,000 phones and so on until all are updated.

That's SOP.

Does anyone know how many phones have been sold? :)

Seriously? 100,000 phones were pushed updates yesterday and NOT ONE out of all of those has reported here?

The ones that were going to get the update are the rooted ones so they did not get it. :)
