Location Data Missing importing Videos to Photos for Mac

Hi,

Does anyone know how to solve the problem of location data not being imported on videos from Android (S20 Ultra) to Mac OSX Photos app?

It works fine for photos, but no videos.

I've tried with videos saved to SD card and internal memory.

Video GPS Location Data not importing into Apple iMac Photos

Hi,

I am having trouble getting the GPS location data to show when importing Videos in Apple Photos (latest version on Catalina).

I do not have this problem when importing photos.

The same thing happens when importing from the phone storage or an SD Card.

The phone is rarely recognised by Photo's as well. When it is, I get every photo from webpages and What's App messages already deleted.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I think easier way is have them back up to Google photos on the s20 then log into Mac computer Google photos with same account, or Google drive .

That is one option. I was hoping to use Photos on the Mac and Google Photos as a backup for each other. Just a bit annoying that the GPS data doesn't import to Mac.

I've tried loads of different ways of importing to Mac, but none of them bring in the GPS data.

I think it's an Apple problem tbh, but I called their support and it wasn't much help.

Yeah might be on Apple side , not sure maybe someone else can chime in that knows . But I think the way I mentioned is best way to go about it .
