LTE Doesn't Work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3

it gets "4g". Hspa +

Right, 4g h+ should be possible if his carrier supports it.

Though he is on edge now. Either the apn is set wrong, or the phone doesn't support 3g/4g on the carrier's network

I'd download an app from the marketplace called spec device or genuine Galaxy and post what pops up.

Kyo I checked on your model number.

In the first screenshot below you can see no LTE is listed under your radios.

In the next screenshot I checked on my model (a T-Mobile Note 3) and you can see it has LTE listed under it.

I'd return it if you want LTE because with the model you have.. It won't work due to no radio :(.

Which model number did you search? Because I have the same N9005 Version and it does have LTE.

You should remove the picture that has your IMEI number showing

Try status under about device; and also see if you have 4k video. I'm trying to figure this out. I am on Talkmobile (Carphone Warehouse) in UK which piggybacks on the Vodafone network so shows Vodafone in Status.
I think its something in the APN, but don't know why LTE is not an option at the moment, but it might be in there. To change some settings it asks for data to be disconnected.

OK. Did the box have a EU Region seal, opened or not.

This is the first case of a N9005 not having 4G/LTE as far as I know.
Sellers on eBay, and possibly market sellers on Amazon are selling imported N9000 models, using a local sim then selling on.
N9000's from Asia etc have 3G only, Exynos Octa Core processors, and no 4k video.
Mine was sealed off Amazon direct, though I bought it still sealed on eBay with Amazon barcodes and EU region lock stickers.

All I can think to suggest is factory reset and try the sim installing the apn again. Antutu benchmark should give you a score of around (35701- 34000) and read your phone also like other apps you tried, but better.
See in Video Size if it goes up to 3840x2160.
This may be the first imported N9005,there must be other markets. If so it doesn't fulfill the EU spec so you should conplain.
I still have a niggle that your phone is kosher/ok, just a question of sorting the settings.
But you have it in front of you so will know better.
If I can think of anymore, or you want to ask more...
The build, base, kernel numbers seem comparable. Best.

The exact one on his amazon page when you go to product details.

I'm not sure what to say Kyo.. The box shows it but the website doesn't and your phone doesn't have the LTE option so therefore I'm leaning more twords the website being right.

I'd personally return and get another or something.. And ensure it has LTE since all of us with LTE have the option (see below).

All N9005's up to now were LTE as I understood. N9000's no.
Try Meteor. I'm Irish but left 27 years ago. I take it they are off the shelf sims only, or do they have stores or cs.
Good luck.

You may have read and tried this, a direct quote from the #1 customer review on the Amazon UK page. It's been running for months, along with now 30 comments I haven't caught up on.
Sammobile.com seems a good place to check these numbers. I tried it early December I think. Due deference to the author.

< "I have just found out today that my phone is from the Philippines (or Malaysia). If you got this phone without a sticker that talks about the region lock then yes you won't have a locked phone (they don't lock the Philippines ones) but you will lose your UK warranty as Samsung have told me that I'd need to send it to the country of purchase.

Whilst I was happy to see that not all phones were region locked they this isn't acceptable to me. Currently Samsung have asked me to provide the IEMI number to confirm it's origin and I will report here if they deem it to be in warranty here.

How do you know your phone is not from the EU?

1) Was there no sticker on the box that said this is locked to the EU till you activate it with a EU sim first?

2) Key in the following into the phone keypad *#1234#
You will get 3 pieces of information - here is mine

AP: N9005XXUBMJ1
CP: N9005XXUBMJ1
CSC:N9005OLBBMI3

Go to Sammobile.com and type in the CSC number in the search box for firmware and the country of origin will show up.

The above firmware comes up as the Phillipines (global).

Amazon have informed me that if you buy direct from them can they guarantee that you will get an EU phone with a valid warranty. All those that think they are saving money by buying under 500 have to weigh this decision against the probability that if you have a problem you are going to have to send it back to Asia and Samsung have only suggested they will help.

You have been warned. I bought mine from (XXXXXX - edit) btw, take your chances from any of the others as these sellers don't seem to have any now.

UPDATE: Well after several emails back and forth with Samsung service center (where they contradicted themselves a couple of times) I have had it finally spelled out for me that they will refuse to service my phone in the UK if it goes wrong. I will have to send it all the way back to Malasia which I think is unacceptable. I really wish that Amazon would stop these market sellers from selling grey imports and deceiving people into believing they are getting a valid UK product >"

Tried with 2 SIM cards 4G from 2 different networks (Meteor and 3 from Ireland) and no 4G.

I believe I've uncovered the reason for your lack of LTE. I noticed your box supports only Band 4 LTE which is predominantly a band found in Canada, South America, and USA LTE bands (however USA carriers lock their LTE bands so only their branded device have access). My guess is you purchased a Canadian 9005 model which would make sense given the Band 4 LTE support. When you see the picture of the other 9005 LTE model posted by the other member in this forum post, that model supports more bands of LTE that are more common around the European and Asian markets. Though it's a LTE 9005 model it only supports band 4, which the UK and most of Europe and Asia do not, so you won't gain LTE on your device. You can check out what countries support what LTE band here:

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks

Hope this helps, and I hope you can come about getting the correct device.
