Ok just venting. I know most details about the new Nexus 7 were known prior to today but I can't help it from bugging me a little, mostly on account of the price. I know I really prefer the presence of a MicroSD slot, we've got 1" more, the 8" looks just a little thinner and the its a little nicer looking. But considering the rest of the technology bumps in the Nexus 7 and $70 cheaper price tag its a little annoying.

Now that I've used the 8" Tab, there is no way I would go back to any 7" tablet.....I love the added real estate.
Besides if you keep chasing the latest technology you will never be happy. Are you happy with your Tab 3 8.0....if so then that's all that matters and you know you made the right choice.

Don't play the "I should have waited" game with your toys. It'll drive you insane. It's not like the nexus has a built in teleporter.

It's like going to the dance and looking at everyone else's date... you'll never enjoy the one you've got if you do.

I also think it's easy to start questioning your purchase/judging your device when people start throwing numbers at you. We really tend to get conditioned, to see those bigger numbers (specs-wise) and start with the grass-is-greener thoughts, but it doesn't mean it would be a device we'd enjoy more.

I'm pretty much on the opposite side - I have a Nexus 7 (current-gen, of course), and the new Nexus looks nice, but I really like/want the 8 inch size. If it's mostly about the price for you? I'm the type who would rather pay a little extra to get what I want (which would be that bigger screen size). Is there something unique about this device which makes you really like it, makes it worth $70 extra (or even more)?

The fact is the 8 inch size is a bit of a niche right now, so Samsung can charge more. For certain people, it's worth it.

I think I'm over it now, especially since the Nexus is already hard to get a hold of. What was bugging me was the idea that it was pretty much giving "more" for "less" only 10 days after the Tab 3 8" was available. It's not like I buy devices and then sit there are newer ones come out and envy them. In this case I bought the Tab 3 8" knowing there was a Nexus refresh coming but the rumored specs were nothing compared to the final product.

Of course you are all right that we've still got the 8" which itself is "more" and I really love the feel of this 8". Also in watching video reviews of the Nexus 7 I'm quite put off by the size of the upper and lower bezel on it. I'm sure there are going to be times when the additional Samsung features I wanted it for like pop-up video and multi-window will really more it worthwhile.

The SD card and the extra inch were the features I really bought it for and its still got both of those above the Nexus.

Oh, I'm in a similar boat with my "old" Note 8.0. 1200 x 800. I still like me tablet though, the screen isn't bad it's just not 1920 x 1200. At least we have expandible storage (and I have LTE and an S Pen).

I'm coming from a ipad and love the tab 8.0. Along with my galaxy s4 I will be content for a while. The screen is amazing. At this point I think people nick pick because you cant go wrong.

So far I'm not hearing any complains from Galaxy Tab 3.8 folks about wonky GPS or touchscreen issues ;)

But neither is all Nexus 7 owners having issues either. All device releases will contain a few bad devices. I have had problems with Samsung devices in the past.
