Manually Update to LG8 unrooted phones only.

Download the following update zip and place it on your external sd. Go to settings/security and make sure unknown sources is unchecked.

Shut off phone. Press volume up, power and home button at the same time. As soon as you see a flash, let go of the buttons. This will put you in stock recovery. Using the volume bar to select and power button to activate, select update from sd card. Choose the file you previously put there. Push your power button. Your update will begin.

This is only for those with STOCK unrooted phones with STOCK recovery.

needs to be on your sd card not the internal sd card

What does the update fix or address? How come it is not available through OTA?

It fixes lte connection issues, updates for improved speech recognition, new radios, brightness slider on the notification dropdown. Yes, it it's coming as an ota. Many people get tired of waiting as it's spread out over several days.

Worked like a charm. I hadn't received the update yet but was HOPING the voice recognition enhancment would help with my flawed bluetooth....so I DL'd this and installed.

Smart stay works like a charm now. Before it would work only in well lit areas but now it works throughout the house whether lit or dark.

Bluetooth with phone commands (Svoice) works now on first try. Before I had to do it 2 to 3 times before it dialed whom I told it too.

I refuse to upgrade to that hideous new update for VVM. I prefer it black and that's the way it will stay.

SPRINT: Leave **** alone unless it's broke or you get 1000's of complaints and I assume that neither was the latter. It totally broke it from the theme of ICS and looks like trash so I personally flip you the finger gesture.

After the update can you uninstall the update if you don't like it or it causes problems. I love my phone the way it is. But I don't use s-voice or anything like that. But would like to try it, the brightness slider would be nice. lmk thanks.

Do you know if it fixes the mms issue I mentioned in my other post?? Either way I will give it a go but would be nice to know.....

Mine does same thing here...

I exported the file from dropbox to extsdcard
And went into ASTRO to verify it was there, but when I go into recovery it says cant mount sdcard.

Just got home and checked. Turns out my s 3 didn't come with sd card. Looked
In box and in phone. Nothing.
