MAPS always open.

Every time I look at my apps MAPS is always on and I have to force close it so my battery won't die. I was really trying to go with out a task killer but it seems I may need one. Any ideas on why MAPS keeps opening or what cab be done to prevent this?

Yeah, I do not know y it auto loads but I assume that android OS uses it go normal tasks

Stop using anything that requests location

Maps open in the background wont drain your battery. It's just there ready to give your location data when another app needs it. It only pulls new data when it's refreshed, either manually or by another application.

Maps does not use any battery in the background. If you notice, when you open maps the gps icon appears in your status bar near your signal meter. If you press the home button it immediately turns off. Google is smart enough to not allow the maps to eat thru your battery when its idle in the background. So you have nothing to worry about and don't have to force close maps. I leave my maps running for weeks at a time.
