Actually, Microsoft had this first with Continuum. I've been using it for over a year on my Windows phone. It does everything through USB C, including charging while you're using it. I use a cheap $18 dock that I got from Amazon and use the phone as a mouse and keyboard (although you can connect a mouse and keyboard to it, too). The difference obviously being that the Windows phone is running a Windows 10 desktop, which makes it a very useful feature as a backup PC.

There were previous implementations of a desktop dock by Samsung. Although they abandoned it years before continuum.

Except that Microsoft phones at this point are nearly obsolete.

Well, it was for some of us but apparently not enough of us. I'm still using mine a lot and will continue to use it until it no longer works. I switch back and forth now. There are some really nice Android phones. If I could only put Windows on them. Some OEM should have made a phone that you could install the OS of your choice.

Well htc made a phone in Android and windows versions... That was a flop though

Has anyone used the desktop mode for a week or a significant length of time? I use Cloudready and I'm curious if I would notice any difference.
