maximum number of windows open??? geez. how do i fix this?

It says I've reached the maximum numbers of windows open. Please close windows. I thought this had 1gb or ram. How do I close windows.

I opened the web browser and then clicked settings then advanced and then clicked the box saying to allow multiple tabs per page. I also clicked button on phone on the left and tiny windows come up that you can close.
