Can I use an external SD Card reader on my moto g? It is the prepaid Verizon edition?

I would like to transfer files to a tablet.

My friend is getting out of the big house in a couple of weeks. He has a u-tab7 from union supply, which is a locked down tablet. He said once he gets out he can't put more stuff on it.

I bet him I could do it using my phone.

Then he tells me that the tablet is locked down and he can only access it through their menu and that only allows songs etc from that company.

I am on a quest to hack that tablet. Any thoughts?

Welcome to Android Central! What do you mean by unlock and admin password? Is this a tablet provided by your workplace? Are you trying to get past the lockscreen, or are you trying to carrier unlock it?

From what I see online, they're "restricted access" devices, sold to people in prison, but with no way of unlocking them. You'd have to learn enough about Android to adapt AOSP to the device and, without a schematic diagram (and the ability to read one), that's not going to happen.

That could be malware itself telling you to do that. I wouldn't, unless the tablet showed signs of instability.

(Unless you've fooled with it - the U-tab 7 is meant to be used the way it's supplied - no apps or data added to it. [It's a prisoner tablet - it gives prisoners something to do, but no mobile data access, no apps they add themselves.])

How do I obtain the administrative password for a Hiteker 7 3rd generation android tablet?

My brother had this in prison but could no longer have it because the new facility he's currently now at doesn't allow him to have it. So he mailed to me for my son. I try to plug in an external card reader with sd card thru the USB port but the tablet doesn't recognize it. And whenever I goto the settings configurations; an ad-min password is needed.

If you use the search function here you will find a number of questions about this tablet. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to disable the administrator password

Welcome to Android Central! You'd probably have to do some pretty heavy-duty hacking to get around that, which would likely include rooting. Check the forums at XDA-Developers.com, which is a good resource for this sort of thing.

Not even XDA. The Hiteker 7 is a DVD player, not a tablet. There's no way to "hack" it into a tablet.

I'd guess the OP is talking about the Hiteker U740RC, not the DVD player.

Regarding union supply tablet after installing the memory slot.

Ok is there a way where I can place a app on the memory card and the app will automatically install it's self. Remember this tablet has no file manager app nor does it have the option to see your storage or go to the internet. It does have a document app and when you enter certain inputs a form of file pops up but with no data. When you click it'll tell that file is not supported something like that it's weird. What would happen if I plug to my computer? I don't know don't have the mini USB cable yet. It also doesn't have volume buttons so doing a factory reset is not a option. Now sending the tablet to Union Supply Company is also not a option - they issue a pamphlet stating "Upon your release they will no longer provide you with any Media content, that you are to provide it on your own". I will be buying the mini USB cable in two months from now so let's find out if that's true probably sooner. It is Android based but partition with a shell of Union Supply program. Can somebody recommend me to someone or to some good tutorial guide. Don't tell me to send to company please they stopped manufacturing this devices they don't care. It's up to us to figure this out. So yeah.

This sounds like a prison-issued video player. You can watch the videos already on it, but that's about it. Everyone is asking about them, but the answer is "they're not of much use, unless you have something on it that you really like and want to keep watching it in the future". Don't waste your money on the cable, unless you just want to keep it charged. (They give it to you upon release because it's not worth very much. If they gave you a cheap pair of shoes, the shoes are worth more.)

If you're asking about adding songs to a prison mp3 player, they're not designed that way - you can't. (Which is why they're given away free when you get out.)
