AC Question

When sent a web address via text message, I cannot connect to it and instead get the message above. However, when I go to 'settings' on my LGG2, there is no option to turn on URL. Can anyone help me to be able to open web pages sent via text?

Re: How to connect to URL in settings menu

It's not in settings. You need to open a web browser, such as Chrome, and enter the address in the url space.

re: [MEGATHREAD] How do I turn on "Connect to URL"

You have to go into crome and click 3 dots up top and then click more then it says turn it on.

Turn what on? You have to give us the exact message. The whole exact message.

Have you read through this thread? Can you give more details?

Re: How do I turn on my URL from my settings on my lgv10

Open the messaging app and select the menu option.... Go to settings>General setting> tick the box that says connect to URL.....

Re: Activate URL using android

Welcome to the forums. What phone do you have? Open the settings in your Messages app and search for an option to open links in the app/browser.

Re: Where is the URL on my phone

That depends on what the exact wording of the message is, and what app is creating it. Phones don't have URLs, only servers on the internet do. (Yes, to purists, you can set your PC so that you can connect to it - but then it's running a server program - no server, no "connect to". A client can't connect to a client.)

re: [MEGATHREAD] How do I turn on "Connect to URL"

I'm thinking we're getting a poor translation to English from some other language (or multiple).

Is it possible it really means that you don't have a default browser set? Can you find a way to set Chrome to open links (or URL's)?

re: [MEGATHREAD] How do I turn on "Connect to URL"

Is there a chance you can post a screenshot of the message you're receiving? Just the "need to turn on URL" makes very little sense to any of us who haven't actually seen this.

A URL is a "Universal Resource Locator", it's a plain-language address that gets converted into a machine address using servers on the internet. A URL is not something that typically gets turned on at a device or node (a device is a node) level.

Go to your messages. Press the 3 dots. In the list that pops up settings should be on that list. Press settings and in that next list URL connection should be there it also warns of phishing scams!

Yeah so thanx....I saw in here someone already asked that question for me and with your help I'm back in orderhappy holidays to you and all your loved ones...thnx again...S.jnobile....
