So I know there was one post already related to this but no solution in that thread has worked, nor has any solution posted on various websites.

I wish I could just disable LG IMS as the frame work contributes to features of my phone I simply don't use, however I cannot find the place to do so nor the IP type most websites tell me to. Like I said I have a Stylo 4 so that may be the issue.

I also doubt it has to do with any particular app as a factory reset did not fix it.

I am at my wits end so either a detailed guide for disabling it or any other fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Found a fix for LG G5!

Do the clear cache/clear data then don't back out of that app. Leave that up, dont kill the app, don't click the back arrow, dont restart your phone, leave it running in the background! As long as you dont end that task, it keeps it on cleared and there is no error message. Once you close the window you'll start getting the messages again. Took me 5 hours of trial and error and 4 resets (the 3rd I threw all caution to the wind, went into developer mode and almost FUBAR'd my device), but there ya go!

Ive attached a picture of what I mean by leave it running in case my excitement for a fix is clouding my abilities to communicate :D

New update as of 10:30pm EST:

My phone died so i charged it up ans turned it back on and guess what message popped up over and over? This time I tried I was able to successfully reproduce my solution!

1st, app info>messaging>storage>clear cache, clear data>back>3dots>reset app preferences>3dots>show system>com.lge.ims.rcsprovider>clear cache, clear data>restart phone> repeat all steps above after resart and stay on the page after you clear the cache and data on com.lge.ims.rcsprovider.

I was able to successfully replicate this fix twice after the first time and can say with some degree of confidence that it can be done with wifi on or off. Again, this is for an LG G5, but its working so far! I can even close the page after about 2 minutes and the error message doesnt come back unless I shut off my phone :)

I tried this and it is still popping up..

im beginning to worry if this is going to be a constant issue with all of us that have LG phones since LG is no longer making phones anymore. I hope it isnt, but for some reason I have a feeling it may.

Shucks. Not here.

Wow, those threads on the Community show how many of us still have lg phones :) T-Mobile will definitely be fixing this. They can't afford to turn their back on this many customers.

I dont think T-Mobile cares. Still get the "T mobile keeps stopping" nonsense too.

They're on auto-pay. Gonna stop that today.

Hmmm... Fiddles.... Well, Prior to going into the com.lg.ims.rcsprovider to clear cache then data, I had turned my Wi-Fi off and did the clear cache then clear data and then I left that running on that screen so it wouldnt refresh. That screen is still up. I found if I hit the back arrow or closed the window I would start getting the error message again. Seems like as long as I have the settings app running in the background it doesnt bug out. Let me check if I did anything else I'm forgetting!

Update: the only thing I didnt mention because I dont think its relevant I was just desperate to try anything lol. I did go into app info>messenger>clear cache before I cleared cache/data in the ims.rcsprovider app options. I also tried clearing the cache/data at least 5 times before that....not really sure what fixed it now :/ but I have since closed the settings window to try to replicate and reproduce the problem and havent gotten the error message since so now I'm at an absolute loss!

Updated original post!

This is my longest lasting phone other than my old Nexus phone that's on 2g lol. This lg has lasted way past any of my Samsungs!

Hi. Created an account just to post my work.
I’m an apple *****, but my wife is T-Mobile with a V30. Just started getting the message a few hours ago. Had to go in a specific order to get it to stop. Airplane mode with no connections (WiFi or data). Then com.lga.ims.rcsprovider, force stop then clear data. Stopped the messages for long enough to get into the “hidden menu” by dialing 277634#*# and IMS Settings>IP Version>IPV4V6. Then when I connected back to data and WiFi the messages haven’t come back. About 10mins since I did. Will update if the message returns.

I called T-Mobile support. They're very aware of the problem, told me LG is working on a solution, and forwarded my call to LGT support. LG support said they do not have a solution yet, are actively workig on it, and to call them tomorrow if the problem is still happenig tomorrow. My hope is LG comes up with something for T-Mobile to change in their network service, since it seems like this problem is not due to a recent phone update but seems likely related to a recent change in T-Mobile network service. As far as I understand, my LG V20 will never get another update from T-Mobile or LG so I hope there is a solution for LG phones that are not in support.
