So I know there was one post already related to this but no solution in that thread has worked, nor has any solution posted on various websites.

I wish I could just disable LG IMS as the frame work contributes to features of my phone I simply don't use, however I cannot find the place to do so nor the IP type most websites tell me to. Like I said I have a Stylo 4 so that may be the issue.

I also doubt it has to do with any particular app as a factory reset did not fix it.

I am at my wits end so either a detailed guide for disabling it or any other fixes would be greatly appreciated.

I managed to stop the error messages by putting my lg stylo 4 into airplane mode going to apps force stopping com.lge.ims.rcsprovider, com.lge.imsnodeprovider, and LG IMS and clearing all their data and cache. That stopped the pop ups for a while. Then I used the 277634#*# to get to the hidden menu. then I tapped the ims settings and tapped on the 1 option that was in there and that gave me a list of options (as someone said earlier). Then I changed the IP to ipv6. I couldn't do that while the pop ups were happening as they would force close the hidden menu before I could get to the IP settings.

Fixed my Tmobile V20:
I
Go to Settings-> General-> Apps/Notifications-> App info-> three dots-> Show System-> com.lge.ims.rcsprovider-> data usage-> storage-> clear data. Bingo! Gone!

As noted above by others, This worked for our two LG Stylo 4 phones on android 8.1 (I think that’s the version #):

SHUT OFF WiFi. This is one of the triggers for the issue. Just use the cellular data capability of the phone, people. Just shut it OFF, T-mobile is counting any WiFi data towards your limit (if you have one) anyways!!! It’s also MORE SECURE than the starbucks WiFi people...

Go to settings → Apps/notifications -> app info -> three dots -> Show System -> com-lge-ims-rcsprovider -> storage

CLEAR DATA then FORCE STOP.

DO NOT turn off the phone,

Why are these LGs at andriod v 8.1 when everyone else seems to be at v 10 ???

I did this exact thing like 3 times earlier to no avail, but the 4th time just now, I sat on the page after force stop and clearing cache, and turned off airplane mode while still on that page and BAM! FIXED!! I got all the texts I'd missed this morning!!!
Thank you so so much everyone!

SHUT OFF WiFI Calling (It always sucked anyway) and DISABLE / DISALLOW WiFi for a while until this all clears up. For some reason, WiFi, especially WiFi calling is a trigger for this issue.

I've been good since I seemingly fixed it a few hours ago. I'm on the actual T-Mobile. I would also agree with a poster above that different phones/versions of Android seem to have different "hidden menus". My issue (same as everyone else's) started around 1 when I turned the phone on, & since one of the suggestion here worked (I posted which a few pages back), I've been good. Currently 6:12 PM where I am.

If you have to get a new phone, Don't get an LG (they stopped making phones anyway), and consider ditching t-mobile as well.
Lol I don't own LG devices but have Samsung, Google,One plus and iphones.

But then leaving the cell phone business doesn't look promising for users keeping those device.

Just did all that in order.

"Unfortunately, LG IMS has stopped"

Continues. LG G4 "thinq" or however they spell on gatdam T-Mobile useless

Not bricked yet.

Please DO NOT turn on the WiFi. It's part of the problem. Disable WiFi calling if you have not alrerady and disallow WiFi connections until this is cleared up.

This happened last year?? I never saw it, but then again I have WiFi connections permanently disallowed.

It's the same on my phone (Stylo 4). At first I was also confused. But then I just tap on that text and another page just opened up and where you can see the option to change the IP Version. I changed mine to IPV6 only because when I changed it ti IPV4V6, it didn't work for me.

You are Not changing the IP ADDRESS, you would be changing the IP VERSION from 6 to 4 , or the reverse. Some phones do not have this capability, but that's not going to fix it anyway. The only thing that has reliably been reported is:
Settings - General - Apps & Notifications - App Info - three dots on top right - Show system. Scroll down to com-lg-ims-provider (whatever) CLEAR DATA then FORCE STOP.
That works, nothing else has been reinforced as working. and SHUT OFF the WiFi until this issues is resolved. It's part of the problem.
