So I know there was one post already related to this but no solution in that thread has worked, nor has any solution posted on various websites.

I wish I could just disable LG IMS as the frame work contributes to features of my phone I simply don't use, however I cannot find the place to do so nor the IP type most websites tell me to. Like I said I have a Stylo 4 so that may be the issue.

I also doubt it has to do with any particular app as a factory reset did not fix it.

I am at my wits end so either a detailed guide for disabling it or any other fixes would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I have an LG Stylo 4, Simple Mobile, part of T-Mobile, old phone, but it's worked great, up until today. So strange. I tried "Safe Mode", + a plethora of other fixes, to no avail.

Really don't want to do a factory reset, seeing as how that seems to be hit or miss for some other users. Technology, am I right?

How do i get rid of the LG IMS notification on my stylo 4

Lg ims is stopped and keeps popping up every few seconds. I have a Android phone. Stylo s4

Just talked to TMobile (chat). They are aware of it and told me this:

I do apologize for this inconvenience .... That is correct this was actually raise by LG to us earlier as it affect not just T-Mobile but any provider which has the LG devices. As per advice by them customers need to do a factory data reset and also recommend to back your data prior on completing the reset. They did provide as well a number to call if customers have further questions which is this number 1-833-378-0003

our technical support is aware of this earlier as we tried to do some troubleshooting as well until LG reach to us about what is happening. According to the details this is in regards of an update to the device by LG

Here to be the validation everyone needs. I have an LG G5, my SIM is about 2 years old and I'm also on Tmobile. Here's everything I've done with no success:

Turned off, turn on

Plug in, unplug

Unistalled updates (Except Lookout, cant seem to touch Lookout, which I noticed updated about 5 minutes before I started having issues!)

Unistalled apps. Then more apps. Then all apps not preloaded.

Lg IMS force stop/cache clear/Data clear same for com.lg.ims config

Safe mode

Secret menu - IMS settings kicks me out in about 2 seconds and popup shows up even in airplane mode.

Factory reset with restore

Factory reset without restore

Introducing phone to floor (didnt fix anything, but was fairly cathartic.)

The only way I can stop the pop ups is by taking out my SIM card. I am considering going drastic rounds and trying to go through the Developer Options route to see if its some sort of coding issue, but th only video I found is in Spanish and I only speak English, a little. Mandarin and Welsh. Might have to try setting my phone to Spanish to follow the tutorial lol

It's either that or try introducing phone to wall or garbage can. Wish me luck

I'm having the same issue with my V20 also on T mobile. I just turned off my wi-fi to make and receive calls but the message is still popping up. The fixes don't work. I was planning on getting a new phone but I guess it will be sooner rather than later.

I just signed up because I wanted to add my device and non-results to the list:

LG V30 on T-Mobile

Issue just started about an hour ago.

Tried everything in this thread besides a factory reset and safe mode and nothing has worked.

My app list when "show system" is enabled only shows two apps with IMS in the title. One is LG IMS and the other is com.lge.ims.rcsprovider and messing with either does nothing. Does anyone know of any other related apps?

I also own an LG tablet (a T-Mo giveaway) that I'm going to charge up and try. I'm guessing that won't have the issue since it can't make phone calls.

Hello, Signed up here because I am also experiencing the same issue. I've got an LG G5, but I'm on TrakFone, rather than TMobile. Someone mentioned this issue would be experienced by any user of an LG phone, regardless of carrier, and that appears to be the case with me right now.

I've had some small success stopping the messages by disabling the data from com.lge.ims.rcsprovider and forcing stop, but only as long as data and wifi are disabled, the pop ups begin again immediately as soon as i turn one back on.

I have tested, and I seem to be able to make calls and send texts while the ims data is deleted, but my phone is of very little use without wifi and data as well. I hope a proper solution is found soon.

Just saw this on the tmobile twitter feed:

"Scratch that. I just got another update and LG is officially working on it and expect it to be resolved by tonight. They are now advising that master resets are not working to resolve it so please do not waste your time with that step. It is confirmed ... https://t-mo.cc/njhdytevam"

Couldn't figure out how to insert the tweet itself, but here's a link: https://twitter.com/TMobileHelp/status/1528448322838466560?s=20&t=HRLgiv2_tr5wYGJy6My2Ig

I went to Apps/notifications -> app info -> three dots -> Show Sytem -> com-lge-ims-rcsprovider -> storage
I cleared the the data.
Has not popped since. Over an hour now.

Re: LG IMS has stopped

i tried this and it did not work. actually started getting the LG IMS keeps stopping message more frequently for some reason. I am connected to wifi though bc phone is pretty much a paper weight if i dont have it turned on. signal stinks here

I may have found a temporary solution. G7 ThinQ on tmobile. I'm not sure if any of you are using fingerprints for your lockscreen, but this is what worked for me.

I noticed when the IMS message popped up, it would sometimes kick me back to the lockscreen. So, I tried to disable the finger print lockscreen option and so far the message has not popped up. I will update here if I get the message again.

Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Then make sure Wi-Fi calling is also turned on with Cellular priority. Then goto apps and then clear data for com.lge.ims.rcsprovider and clear cache for lg ims.

I'm also experiencing this issue today; my phone is an LG G6 ThinQ on the T-Mobile network. I've tried all the suggestions in this thread except a factory reset (which someone mentioned didn't work anyway). I had done no recent app updates prior to getting this popup (auto-updates are disabled). I've cleared the data from com-lge-ims-rcsprovider multiple times, but still receive the pop up.

So glad I found this forum! Hope we can find a solution so I can use my phone again

It's an LG problem. T-mobile said they are having issues with their latest software update or something. T-mobile transferred me over and I've been on hold about 25 min.

The # T-mobile gave me: 18333780003
The # Google gave me: 1 (800) 243-0000

I tweeted T-Mobile and they replied that LG is aware and it's working on a fix.

Not a helpful answer but a hopeful one. It's better than a generic "try rebooting your phone" or "try a factory reset."

Also I tried clearing the data in the rcsprovider app while in airplane mode. I then turned on Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi calling is off. Basically I just have a non-air tablet situation. But no pop-ups. It's only been a few minutes but I haven't had a minute-long interval since it started. Knocking on wood...

No idea if this actually means anything, but I don't have the issue (my daughter with same phone does) & under settings - system - update center - app updates, I found an app called LG Account that has a pending update. My daughter's is version 4.1.5 & mine is still 4.1.3. I turned off my updates & suggest that your father do the same, just it case it keeps him from having trouble. I have Stylo 4.
LG G7 ThinQ here with Tmobile. Problem started earlier this morning for me. My father has the same phone but has not yet experienced the issue.
Tried the various solutions presented, but no luck yet. I am still able to make and receive calls and text messages. Tmobile appears to be aware of the problem but who knows how quickly they will work on a fix...

I cleared rcsprovider data 3x and still get the pop up. I think we'll just have to wait on LG and Tmo (Metro in my case) to get it sorted.
My wife has the same phone (G7Thinq} on Mint Mobile and says she's not getting this issue.
