MHL (microusb to HDMI) cable for Evo 3D

Re: Where to get an MHL (microusb to HDMI) cable for Evo 3D

It says the Samsung cable hasn't been approved for the 3D yet : /

Ah, nice catch. I didn't see that....

But that's weird how it wouldnt work with ANY MHL port... Didnt think there'd be a difference.

I am waiting for docks etc. The placement of the port makes it clear cool perephrials will come out.

It doesn't mean that it will not work. Just means that they haven't tested it to confirm it for legal means.

So do you get the MHL adapter from T-Mobile for 19.99 or the one from Sprint for 39.99? I was going to order the adapter from T-Mobile, but just saw the Sprint one. Does the Sprint one support 3D?

Re: Where to get an MHL (microusb to HDMI) cable for Evo 3D

Just ordered the Samsung, used the code FREESHIP and saved a few bucks.
I think the 3D support is going to be a software issue that needs to be resolved, the adapter is presumably the same. Ill let everyone know how it goes.

I placed an order from Tmobil that this item was listed as HDMI adapter is that right? i over night it hopeful if they still have it in stock i will get it soon and write the results here..

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the Samsung one. It's exactly the same as the HTC and tmobile one. It just has a footnote because it isn't a HTC product and hasn't been tested by Samsung on the 3D.

Re: Where to get an MHL (microusb to HDMI) cable for Evo 3D

Any chance they will be putting a stop to these cables like they are the Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cables?

Mini DisplayPort to HDMI cables must be withdrawn | News | TechRadar UK

I'm not going to say it is impossible, but from some of the things I have read about MHL, it is it's own standard and part of that standard is to have the micro USB on one end and a HDMI type jack on the other end. The difference between an MHL connection and a HDMI is that the MHL will allow communication, so the TV can pause the device (for instance). As long as the developers of MHL are careful to say it can work with HDMI, but is technically MHL, there shouldn't be a problem.

Also, MHL seems to have some pretty big promoters including; Samsung, Nokia, and Sony.

Samsung and Sony have a pretty big consumer electronics market share and a wide portfolio of products, so that should be some good momentum.

Let us know when you get it.

If it works, then I'm getting it too.... That or the T-Mobile one.

It now shows "Out of Stock".

i tried hooking my t.v. up to my phone with the hdmi cable but it will not work. anyone have any ideas?

Are you connecting the power cable too? Changing to the correct input on your TV?

you need to have power from a wall charger (not a cable connected to a computer's USB port) plugged in to the side of the MHL adapter for them to work. While I know this is the case for the t-mobile/expansys one, I believe it is the case for all current MHL adapters, just something about how the standard is written at the moment.

Any word on the Samsung adapter working as well yet? I just ordered it. I was going to go with the T-mobile one until I found out I can't get it at the store and the website charges tax and shipping, looked a little more online and came across this DayDeal Its going for $20 with free shipping in the US and no tax, also ordered a little Android collectible figure as well. Ill let everyone know the progress of how everything pans out.

******Just called them to make sure they had it in stock after my order and I may have gotten the last one they had, as now it does show out of stock********

Found this on the xda forums link, it is in regards to the Sensation but it does have a link to a youtube video of the Sensation connected to the Samsung MHL adapter and working great on the tv, although the original poster was not having the same luck connecting his.

Another thing with regards to displaying 3D content to a 3D tv, I remember reading about the MHL adapter and that version 1 does not support 3D but version 2 will, however version 2 is not out yet.
