Some questions: How good is the DAC/AMP compared to the iPhone ?

Does the phone work well with tempered glass screen protectors or is it a night mare like the S7 (tempered glass are a must for me, I work around a lot of metal shards that can easily make deep scratches in the glass of my phone)

How the battery life?

Is the camera lens cracking issue still a thing or did LG fix all that?

The DAC/AMP blows Apple out the water, much higher dynamic range and volume. If you continue with the Apple series (starting with iPhone 7), you'll soon discover the missing headphone jack. Bluetooth sucks and will never sound better than auxiliary.

The phone works well with glass screen protectors. I have one on mine. It might be a little tricky to install and isn't going to be perfect as the top and bottom portion will not be covered since it's curved. Note that the 2nd screen won't be fully covered 100% due to curves. There is also a glass screen protector that covers the whole screen, the curved part is colored black to hide the halo effect (see it on Amazon).

I get on average 5.5 to 6 hours of screen on time on the V20. With the option to swap batteries, I pretty much get 100% battery instantly. Quick Charge 3.0 USB C is super fast, faster than iPhone's lightning charger.

There was another YouTube video of a scratch test on the camera lens and it didn't crack, only happened to a small number of people. So far, I have not cracked mines. Just use a case on your phone and leave the factory screen protector on the camera.

The only thing I like about Apple is their touch screen is much more accurate, and their camera is really good.

I do have to say that you're right about the iPhones camera being good. Wife has the 7+ and its really nice to be able to grab and be able take a quick pic of the kids and know it's going to be nice and clear but I still like having the manual mode on the V20.

Battery life is great and the camera lens breaking was never a wide spread issue. It was a relatively small number of cases (some of which looked to be more than pure chance) that happened close together, which kept being talked about, making it seem a bigger issue than it actually is.

I can't advise much on the other questions since I don't have experience with Apple, and I've given up on screen protectors even though i work in a dirty environment.

Battery life is good out of the box and with some small tweaks it's great.

Camera lens breaking was a small issue. I know people that have dropped their phones over and over (with no case and no plastic covering over the lens) and it still hasn't broke.

Thanks for the replies guys but I've decided to just get the iPhone 7+ and I'm praying the next Pixel Google makes comes to t-mobile as I have jump on demand and never buy my phones upfront.

I've got both, the V20 has been a secondary device as I cracked the camera glass, the 7+ is a great phone but 8 miss the daily experience of Android. It's just not the same to me. Yet I continue to use the iPhone (more or less because of the camera glass)
iOS animations drive me up the wall. That, and the stock icon grid. And lack of camera options. And more...

You can set up an installment plan for an unlocked pixel straight from Google I believe. At least you could when I was going in between the pixel xl and the V20 when the note 7 ordeal was still going on

Sorry to hear about your V20. You can replace it yourself with this aftermarket part:

$35 bucks, seems like a pretty easy fix.
