MIUI Ported to the X

make sure you also flash the patch. that might fix the market issue.

Found my Market issue. It was the app itself. It was discontinued and the developer released a different version under a new name. Thankfully they allow 'Pro' users to get the premium version of the new one.

So living with MIUI for a couple days now I'm really impressed. Overall it's a great ROM. My battery life is MUCH better than the stock Froyo or GingerBread ever was. I quit using Handcent in favor of the stock texting app.

I have had the 'Bluetooth doesn't auto reconnect' issue with my car (Pioneer MVH-8200BT). It will connect after going into the stereo menu and choosing the device and hitting 'Connect'. This was on 1.7.22, I've now upgraded to 1.7.29 (through ROM Manager premium w/Droid X 2nd init Clockwork) but haven't used the car yet this weekend.

Not going back to stock and I think this one just needs a couple bugs to be worked out to be one of the top ROMs.

Haha, thank you. I'm digging MIUI's camera app!

Does anyone know if MIUI does anything different in how it manages tasks or scheduling? It does get much higher quadrant scores than it did on Apex 2, despite that I'm getting much more lag in the UI, and it seems to run hotter than usual on my usual processor settings. These things aren't killing me and certainly aren't going to push me to put on a different ROM, but I am a bit curious.

have any of you tried side-loading the miui camera app alone to your gingerbread handsets? i'd be happy to try if someone could pull out the apk for me. i'll likely hold off flashing the whole rom until the bugs are settled out but i'm willing to be the guinea pig on the camera apk since that's easy enough to uninstall.

ok so i found the apk and side-loaded it. here's the issues i found:

* at max resolution the autofocus doesn't work properly but it seems ok at other resolutions
* this does override the stock camera app so change the name to "MiuiCam" or whatever you like but remove the word "camera" or it overrides the stock app.
* loading is FAST
*pictures seem decent but i really have to sit and do a comparison. i'll start another thread for this

Good video. MIUI is one of the most powerful Roms I have ever run. In fact, if I want a device, and MIUI can't run on it, I no longer want said device. I love everything about this ROM and the development take this one very seriously. Makes the droid X feel new again, lol I have said that alot.

With our debt to china, and apple having more cash on hand than the American government, prolly is a good idea.

Taking the dive, I'll report back in 48 hours......

Are there any GPS issues in MIUI like there are in stock GB? Thanks!

When I was on the MIUI 1.7.22.1
I had no issues with the GPS at all.
However I wasnt crazy about the 1.7.29 update because of the stock browser being changed(personal reason) ,,so I left this rom temporary hope they change the stock browser back .

I still have a backup of 1.7.22.1 tho on my sd card

Anyone having trouble playing videos?

Had no issues with videos playing at all ,

This rom is nice. Seems like a huge learning curve, though I am impatient. I tried to flash back to Apex this morning but bricked my phone. Apparently 2nd-init roms have their own bootloaders and using DroidX Bootstrap is a no no.

I'm gonna flash MIUI this weekend again, lots of EYE CANDY!! The Music player is AWESOME!

I got a few questions on this Rom.

If I use Launcher Pro, would this bring back my Android look and feel vs. the Iphone? I MISSED MY WIDGETS!!

I had an issue with Tweetdeck not taking on this rom, just me?

Updates, how do we get updates?

Just wanted to add before I leave OMG!! Did you see them Quadrant scores..WOW! This Rom has to be the smoothest B#tcH out there...

anywway...I'll be BAcK...

As far as finding updates there are a few ways,, one way is if you like flashing using rom manager after you switch to the 2nd-init on rom manger you can find it there under "download rom" and can flash from there ,,or you dont like flashing directly by using RM ,you can download only from using rom manager ,,, and flash it manually by find the file on sd card from using a file manager and looking in folder> Clockwork Mod>download>MIUI> and flash manually tho cwm that way .
also you can find updates in these links as well

select dx from list in this link
MIUI.us UNITED WORLDWIDE - ROM Downloads
( sometimes framework43 includes a patch on this link below),under where it shows "version then download " , sometimes its the same as first, link which in the case of 1.7.29 looks like its the same. I read tho he was going to make a patch for it but not positive if he did or not .
[ROM][7.29.11][MIUI.us OFFICIAL] MIUI4DX 1.7.29
if you want to use LPP and have an app drawer as far as I know you can use that launcher as well ( I didnt use LPP on the rom but should be able too)

It does have alot of customizations to it to make it like you want :)

The new browser is just as fast, but has more function. More like a desktop tab style. Love the full screen option and auto smart.
