Mobile data issue after wrong SW update

did that but profile 0 activates on it own still for some reason the orignal settings just come back after reboot.....im just gonna have to wait for 2.3

They are the companies fault? He bought a phone, incorrectly flashed wrong software to it and then returned it. Sounds like the CONSUMER error.

No one takes personal responsibility anymore, dont follow directions then return the phone yup makes sense. You have a warped sense of morality if you somehow think this is LGs fault.

it kind of is if the cab file lg provided would of worked he would of neva had to return it.....anyways wat he gonna do stay with a broken phone when he could get a new one.

It looks like some folks need a refresher on the forum rules. Please keep it civil and factual. There is no place for name calling and personal attack here.

This thread needs to stay open and visible. Both of you guys fighting and arguing make valid points, but in the future, please try to make them in a more friendly way.

And don't be surprised if one of this particular forum's mods takes further action now that attention has been drawn to the thread.

If your post was deleted, it's because you were either thread crapping or name calling. A few other posts were deleted so the thread still makes sense.

Anyones opinions regarding the moral ethics of returning/exchanging a bricked phone are irrelevant to the OP's question. If you want to hash it out in the AC lounge, feel free to take it in there. But for Gods sake try to debate without the personal attacks and name calling.

Hmmm, all of those are the same for me. I also have "Pkt Dial String:#777" in the data tab. Not sure if this should matter but the NAM name is: "SPG "

On the M. IP. tab:
profile:0, enb:no, nai:, tethered nai:, ha spi:3, aaa spi:2, rev tun:no, home:0.0.0.0, primary:dynamic, secondary:not set, dmu pub:0, mob auth:

profile:1, enb:yes, nai: (your MEID)@mdata.vmobl.com, tethered nai:, ha spi:21EF, aaa spi:21EF, rev tun:yes, home:0.0.0.0, primary:not set, secondary:not set, dmu pub:0, mob auth:

profile:2, enb:yes, nai: (your MEID)@prov.vmobl.com, tethered nai:, ha spi:21EF, aaa spi:21EF, rev tun:yes, home:0.0.0.0, primary:not set, secondary:not set, dmu pub:0, mob auth:

Active User:1
Mobile IP Behavior: Mob IP only
Initial Registration Retry Interval: 2000 mS
Re-register only if...: checked
Pre-lifetime...: 30

And you are sure you are back to the stock firmware? What baseband do you have?

Save all your settings before you change anything!

Thanks to this i get 3G back, but it reboots my phone after while when it looses 3G.

I think that it could be my PPP settings, mind posting those also?

Thanks for the other info :) really helped my headache of no 3G at all.

This is all the same for Rm, Um, and AN

PPP Parameters:
LPC 20 1000 3 2 3000
IPCP 20 1000 3 3 1000 ignore
IPCPv6 20 1000 3 3 1000 ignore

PPP Authentication:
Retries 5
Timeout 3000

The rest apply only apply to the tab mentioned.
Under AN, there is a User ID: (your MEID)@mdata.vmobl.com

Under Um, Optimized Dormant Handoff is checked.

All other entries are blank or unchecked.

Hope this works.

Thanks

Thanks Mmarz, the settings are fine it seems.

I notice the problem is just Virgin Mobile or Sprint and especially where I live. My phone cycles between 4 antennas almost non stop, which i guess causes the eventual problem with losing 3G. Phone works perfectly at my friends house and on my trip all along the highway.

I use QPST to write the settings.

Have you tried updating the PRL?

PRLs

Yeah, I tried different PRLs.

It seems that at the exact point where I live, these 4 towers all have a similar strength within a few db's. The phone can sometimes cycle through the towers non-stop, which eventually messes up the 3G.
Simple reboot fixes the problem.

Depending on cloud cover, it will mostly just see the 2 closest towers and cycle more slowly or not all.

I'll keep observing and researching :)

Re: PRLs

Does anyone know exactly why Profile 0 stays active, even when not checked? I have used DFS also to edit profile settings, also disable Profile 0 but somehow never can get it disabled. I think this is the ONLY thing holding me back from getting data on my Optimus V. I have the correct settings for Profile 0, Profile 1, and Profile 2. But just can't keep Profile 0 set. When Profile 1 and 2 are checked or enabled, Profile 2 gets disabled and Profile 0 gets enabled every single time. :)

I have used QPST, DFS and some chinese LG tools to do this.

Is there anyone out there who can give me the correct app or settings, or even a way to do this? Thanks in advance.
