Moisture in usb port

For the last month or more I have been getting this alert on my S10+. I can't use a wired charger or plug in to Android Auto. The phone has never gotten wet (other than minor rain drops on it.
I've tried all the fixes (cleaning and drying the port, clearing the system cache, etc.) that are posted online to no avail.
I called Samsung Support and they couldn't help either. They recommended that I take it to a Samsung Service Center. I'll do that this weekend.
Has anyone found a better, different solution than I have already done?

I had the same issue with my LG G6. I tried everything, and finally had to send it into LG to do a warranty factory repair. They ended up replacing the USB port to fix the probably. I have a feeling you'll need to do the same thing for your phone.

How did you clean it? Counter intuitive as it seems, you could try sitting it in a little distilled water for 10 minutes then giving it a good clean with something small and lint free.

Obviously it's risky because IP ratings are meaningless... The reason i suggest it is if there's mineral deposition or something else difficult to clean causing the short, the distilled water will hopefully dissolve it or at least make it cleanable.

I just used a dry piece of lint free cloth. Shaved a toothpick down so it would fit and used that to swish the cloth around.
I think I am going to hold off on the distilled water for now since the phone is only 4 months old and still under warranty.
We'll see what the authorized service center has to say.

I've used a hair dryer for couple minutes on low settings by the port opening..

All of a sudden I'm getting the "Check charger/USB port" error where my S10 thinks there's moisture in the port. My phone hasn't been near any moisture all day and I hardly use the port for charging (mainly wireless pad). So, I'm not sure why I'm seeing this notification. I've tried booting in safe mode to see if a 3rd party app could be triggering this message, but I still get the warning. Tried a normal reboot. I haven't tried a blow dryer yet, but I'm thinking that probably won't fix the issue.

Anyone else having this problem?

Lot of people been having this issue since around s9 and Note 9 series , can try the blow drier see what happens

Whew! I was able to carefully clean out the USB port using a toothpick and compressed air (removing some lint), then rebooted my phone and the constant warning notification is now gone (knock on wood!). Once you get this error you can't charge with the USB cable, as you get a alarm sound and popup message.

I had the same issue with my LG G6 a few years ago and it was fixed by sending in my phone to LG for a warranty repair (they replace the USB connector). I certainly didn't want to go through that again!

Thanks.

So glad you fixed the issue on your own, and didn't have to send your S10 in for repair! Thanks for keeping us updated! :)

YES, I just had this the first time yesterday! I wonder if its some bug in the very recent security update which I believe was just the day before! Mine has never gotten wet either so I think it's a bug!!!!!

Not a bug, been since S9 and Note 9 series and up.

i had this problem with my s9... no matter what i tried, i couldn't get rid of the message... i don't have a wireless charger either...
what i did to solve this problem, after trying everything i could find on youtube except for resetting my phone to factory settings, was simply...
take a old-fashion (wooden) toothpick, the hard ones with a long sharp point... tear off a small strip of kitchen paper and wrap it around the point... moist the paper slightly with your tongue...
now switch off the phone and clean the top, bottom AND sides of the contact bar... let it sit for 1/2 hour so the contact is 100% dry...
plug in the charger and then switch on the phone...
it did the trick for me... fast charging again without any messages or errors...
hope this helps...
