Most data you have used in a month?

He is not pilfering anything. They offered free tethering and unlimited data. He has every right to use as much as he wants. They offered it to get people hooked and then at a later date change it. This is from somebody that uses no more than 1 gb from my phone.

When Verizon offered the unlimited data plans, they did not expect users to use their phones to replace their internet service providor. In the same way that you or others here feel that Verizon takes advantage of its customers in other areas, this is an example of a customer taking advantage of the situation: pure and simple abuse. We can agree to disagree. I for one think it is abusive, and by the looks of it I am not alone. Just because you can does not mean you should!

I dont't think I have even cracked 1gb yet. That sounds like abuse of the system to me.

Geez, where do you guys find the time to use the phone that much, 1 to 2 gigs max for me. I think that is why God made laptops and cable telco isp's

I don't have computer access at work. I work 6 days a week. When I am home I use the laptop.

My husband has never gone over 1G and i don't get over 2G's. We have thought of dropping our home i'net but figure as soon as we do Verizon will hike our rates. I use my phone i'net wheni am on the go, not for at home.

A single podcast that updates frequently can easily weigh in at half a gig a month. Maxing out Pandora is pretty easy, too, that's like the average commute both ways plus an hour at work (at high/tolerable quality). 40 hours of Pandora can net around 2GB a month before Pandora stars asking for money. So we're at 2.5 hours and we haven't even tethered, browsed internet, or watched video, yet.

Oh, don't have Internetat work. Shoot. Otherwise you could use your company's business Internet rather than VZW's. :)

this is exactly why we must pay for wireless hotspot and such outrageous data fees.It is because of people like this.

Get a real ISP for those things. You bog doen the network and raise prices for all of us.

unreal.

this pisses me off

In my defense, I would love to get a high speed ISP but none is available where I live. I just got VZ about 2 months ago and was so excited over the speed I was trying out tons of stuff that I could never do before so I got carried away with the useage. With LTE speeds of 10Mbs, you can download 4.5GB every hour and it would only take 8.8hrs of use to hit the 40Gb that I hit in a month. So if you are not monitoring everyday and checking usage, it can get away from you quick. Also, every city has their own network so stop complaining of me bogging your network down unless you live in Tampa.

Hey guys, you are playing too much with those phones. Get back working or school!!! :) :) :)

1.5 gigs over here.

I average 35-40 very heavy user Verizon how much I use. But I could care less about what they say

Holy data! I have used 40GB this month. Mostly from using a netflix app on my HDTV and my son playing call of duty on his PS3. I watched Pulp Fiction in HD a few days ago and it used up 3GB! Just wondering if I am going to show up on VZ "top data user list". I would like to fly under the radar if possible.

Stop letting your son play any online video game with your LTE connection. While the speeds are fast, the ping is not optimal for online gaming. While his connection is running just fine, everyone else in the game is dealing with the awful lag that your son is causing. Please, stop allowing someone to play online games with a sub-par connection. A ping should be in the single digits locally and no where above 50 (according to these game companies, anyways) for an optimal connection. I can tell you that LTE does not offer these pings.

And wow, that's a lot of data.

the most i used was 9 gb and that was with my 3g incredible. i dont really use too much. i think ill average around 5 gb with my thunderbolt.

I use to use about 4-5GB but now I leave wifi on so soon as I come in the house I am off of 4G. Now I am down to about 2.5-3GB. However, if I lose my unlimited I will be going to Sprint.

As LTE becomes the norm.. I suspect many people may not see the need to have landline data + wireless (just like phones). Usage like that will probably become normal heh.

I personally stream audio all the time (and hope to eventually stream video -- i.e. sports).

Current usage is about ~6GB/month

For me, I have too many devices I need to have connected when I'm not home (I.e. slingbox) that not having home internet isn't really an option.

You are wrong. He would only cause lag to someone else if he was hosting a game which he never does. He always joins a game that someone else is hosting with a high speed connection. Works perfect for him with no lag. Verizon LTE is the only high speed service available in my area so telling my 13yr old son that he can't game online anymore would be like telling you that you cant eat or sleep anymore. LOL.

The way I see it.. I'm paying 30.00 a month for unlimited which is more expensive then any ISP in my area. Therefore I will use my UNLIMITED data as I please. If verizon felt that the amounts of data people are using is to extreme they should warn of penalties regarding high bandwidth usage. But they didn't so they messed up. And besides I thought the only reason they choose tiered data pricing was so they could get the iphone. Stop complaining people. we pay for unlimited so we use unlimited...

Perhaps your dad would spring for it. Based on the new data rates that'd be... lessee...

---------
$30 - 2 GB
$50 - 5 GB
$80 - 10 GB

$20 per 1 GB overage
---------

About $420+/mo. for data Wanna ask your dad? :)
