Attention Moto 360 (2015) owners, apparently it has been discovered that the Gyroscope in the Moto 360 (2015) does not work at all and has been accidentally disabled by Motorola. There are certain apps like CompassX that rely on the Gyroscope to work will not work it works on the Moto 360 (2014) as well as the other smart watches on the market. I have brought this up to Motorola tech support and they just refuse to accept that this is true. Just want to get this message to everyone.

You mean a compass? I didn't think one was even included.

Moto 360 - Android Smartwatch - Motorola
Sensors
Accelerometer, Ambient Light Sensor, Gyroscope, Vibration/Haptics engine

But not "compass".
Rrigter93, I think you're confusing gyroscope, which detects the wrist rotations, vs a compass that understands the actual north south direction the watch is poiting in.

But what is odd is that the app worked with my Moto 360 (2014) but will not work with the Moto 360 (2015)
Many owners of the Moto 360 (2015) have also addressed this issue

This can't be correct. The gyroscope is what is used for tilt to wake, and that works fine. I believe this thread is wrong and should be deleted or the subject/topic edited...

My nephew tried a compass app with his 2014, and it didn't work.

Why do my wrist gestures work if there's no gyroscope?

The compass doesn't work, but I didn't think it had one to begin with. Really annoying for the watch faves that have a compass that I can't edit though.

Because this thread is bogus. It has a gyro.

Compass worked on my 360.1.... I don't know why they would have removed it from the 360.2 (I haven't tried, but others say no-go). I don't find it particularly useful since it wasn't accurate on the 360.1 anyway.

The accelerometer is used for tilt to wake and wrist gestures not the gyroscope. All the Watchmaker compass watchfaces and watchfaces that use the gyroscope that used to work for my 360 v1 no longer work for my 360 v2. Something is definitely wrong.

Let's put it this way: whatever you want to call the thing that makes a compass work...is not in the new 360.
