I'm getting my black/black/dark grey replaced under warranty because the top speaker fell out and I'm thinking of going with black/cognac leather/orange trim.

Get a bumper case. I use the Motorola one when I feel the need for a layer of protection (which is rare) and it lets you enjoy the back in all it's awesome glory.
I've been waivering back and forth on getting the Hula bumper. The Supcase I have now is a bit much... My husband insists I need the amount of protection that the Supcase provides. I however am not so sure! I used to have a Motorola Defy and I only used a silicone case on it. I only put a case on my last phone (S5 Active) because my toddler had a nasty habit of dropping it on our tile floors, but I got him a used cell and he doesn't bother mine anymore.
Do you know how much of a lip the bumper has on the front? That is my main concern and pretty much the only thing I do like about the case I have now.

I'd get one if I could but they don't sell them in the UK although I don't use cases or bumpers very often.

I'd say the bumper covers about half the amount of the side bezels, so it's actually pretty minimal when you consider how small the bezels are to begin with. When I do feel the need for protection, I feel very confident with the Hula bumper. It gives a good amount of heft, grip and protection but still lets you enjoy the gorgeous back of the X.

Jerry, Could you comment on the condition of the leather now that you've had this phone for a while. Would love to hear/see how it has held up.
I know you posted this ages ago, but could you tell what color the smoke back is exactly?? Is it more of a brown color as displayed on MotoMaker? It's hard to tell from the very few ACTUAL photos I've seen.
Well, I didn't have the luxury of going thru Moto Maker. I couldn't even go down to the ATT store to see which ones they had in stock! I was on Alltel which at one time was the largest regional carrier in the USA. That was until Verizon purchased Alltel, then sold off the part they didn't want to ATT. Even after the sell we continued as Alltel customers until we received a notice saying we would be merged into ATT at sometime in the future. Then they sent us a notice telling us to go to att website to select your new phone or they would select one for us. All they had of the Moto X-2 for "us" was either a black back with black front or black back with white front. Even after we received our phones we still wasn't officially att customers. It wasn't till they sent us a text about 6 wks later stating to turn your new phone on, then off, then on again. Only then we became "true" att customers. I would have loved to have the slate back with chrome trim. Even the Motorola "M" is blacked out. Mine has rigges on the speaker/mic. For as what others have stated about the quality of their backs. I doubt any Moto X (2nd Gen's) were assembled in Fort Worth. Sooo, they had to make a "mad dash" to switch things over to China which meant the quality of applying backs went way down.

Hey I was wondering if you could post actual pics of that Moto X you got w/ natural leather, black front and dark trim?
Haven't seen it in "real life" and thinking of that color scheme.
