Moto X 2014 Cases!

It's not too hard. A lot easier than the 2 piece cheap plastic case I had on my S5. I usually started at the headphone jack or charging port as it's easier to get it apart there. The phone actually almost snaps into the front cover, but very easy to remove.

Oh. Ballistic isn't that difficult to take off as well. Seems easiest to start with the top left. Also, it doesn't collect as much dust as I thought it would. I highly recommend it. Black/white case looks nice too.

I'm probably not gonna get a concensus on this answer but if I was just looking for the case with the best lip curving on top of the screen a bit, which would it be? Preferably a relatively minimal case, (not like a Supcase Heavy Duty or OtterBox Defender) but I just don't want it to be too cheap/weak/flimsy.

The casemate Gelli case has a pretty good lip and it's very minimal. Also the Naked tough is very protective while also being minimal. It's bigger than the Gelli case though.

Those are the only cases I have. Hopefully some other people can chime in.

Thanks for your response. Have you tried the Supcase Unicorn Beetle by any chance?

Just chiming in re: clear TPU cases - my suspicion is that they don't want you complaining about a yellow/brown case down the road - I had a clear (frosted) Diztronic for my Moto X (2013) and it was pretty gnarly looking after <1 year of use. I complained to them about it and they said that's how clear TPU works. Apparently non-frosted would be even worse. Diztronic has a disclaimer on their listing noting this.

Wow. A picture really is worth a thousand words. Stopped the whole tpu clear case quest right in its tracks. That thing looks horrible. Thanks for the pic.

LOL, it's an eight-dollar case for a $500+ phone. If it gets "yellow", toss it and get a new one.

Has anyone found a "slim rubberized hard plastic" case for the 2014 Moto X ala the Rearth Ringke Slim case?

I have the Ringke Slim on my Nexus 5 and I absolutely love it. I ordered two TPU cases (i-Blason and Diztronic) with my phone, but I found that while it is better than nothing, I really dislike the feel of the TPU material.

I'd like to know this as well. I absolutely adored my Ringke Slim on my iPhone 5. Super thin, super cheap case that grips like a champ.

I have a Bear Motion and a Zizo case on the way (arriving Monday). hopefully one of those two match their "rubberized hard snap-on" description.

If you want something like the Ringke Slim for your 2014 Moto X then the Bear Motion Ultra Slim is probably the closest to it you're going to find. The fit is nearly identical to the Ringke, but the texture is a bit more coarse (almost like fine grit sandpaper) where the Ringke is smoother and relies more on the rubbery feel for grip. I prefer the look and feel of the Ringke, but the Bear Motion Slim is a close second.

I'm not quite as crazy about the Zizo. Its design offers more protection and as a result isn't quite as sleek as the Bear Motion Slim. It is more of a smooth hard plastic, sacrificing the grip slightly compared to the Bear Motion. I ordered the orange version and I don't know if the texture will vary with the color. Regardless, I'd still use the Zizo over either of the TPU cases I received and will keep it around in case I want more protection or a more visible case.

Correct, the Hula bumper is a "bumper" case, meaning it only covers the sides. I bought one and returned it. Though it did feel thick enough to protect the corners from a good drop, it didn't do anything for the front or back of the phone. It also felt cheap and flimsy enough that I bet it would break if you switch cases often, it didn't feel like it would stand up to being removed and put back on frequently. I bought a "Supcase" with a frosted/clear back from Amazon, and this case works very well, still allows me to see my bamboo back.
