Moto X 2014 Cases!

I believe it is under the lower speaker grille.

Are you talking about the front lower speaker?

The only holes I need to care when picking a case is the two mics located in the back, right? Like that CIMO photos on the prev. pages.

Thanks mate I will check it out!

I'm liking my Cimo Wave case. Makes it much easier to hold on to and still shows off the back. Like the price as well.

Did you receive your Hula Bumper right away? I ordered mine in November and received the phone but no case. I've called twice trying to get it sent or refunded, but no help yet. They keep saying they are on back-order or something.

Where did you buy it from? Motorola? If I were you I'd cancel the order and pick one up from Amazon. They have some in stock.

See, the clear part looks great - so WHY isn't there a SINGLE, 100%-CLEAR (NOT FROSTED) TPU case??? Is there some sort of conspiracy? Do the manufacturers not want to make any money?

I agree, it is frustrating. If Cimo or someone else manages to produce a fully clear tpu case customized for the Moto X 2014 with all the proper cutouts, then "Shut up and take my money!" It's worth mentioning that the frost surface is rather slick whereas the clear surface has the usual tack/grip that I like about the tpu cases. Perhaps Cimo is shooting for a design that has a blend of slide and grip, but I suspect it actually has to do with emphasizing their design with the wave. I've seen several other people's phones including older iPhones with that wave on them and I can tell it is a Cimo case so I guess mission accomplished from a marketing standpoint.

Until that day I have settled for this one. I had my phone for two weeks before getting this case and while the wood back is a head turning design, it made me very nervous to be without a case. I have had a tpu case on all of my phones and in my mind they are the only way to go. I'm not the type who tends to drop my phone frequently, but the tpu cases have always saved me on those rare occasions where it has happened.

For now this is the best thing out there and for about $10 it is good deal. I paid over $20 for the tpu cases I purchased for my previous phones and they were just black.

Yeah you're exactly right. It's all about pushing the brand. I don't begrudge this, exactly, but why aren't there half a dozen cheap chinese clear TPU cases? I mean, why would someone want to be able to CLEARLY SEE the phone back/trim they personally picked out, amirite???

Hey guys, check it out. This is my tenth post. So, hopefully after this post, I can finally post some Goddamn links.

Hopefully.

So this looks like LITERALLY the ONLY 100%-CLEAR case for this thing, Orzly InvisiCase:

To those that have used it extensively, how bad does the back scratch up? I wouldn't mind dropping ten bucks every 4-6 months or so for a new, shiny clear one but if this thing gets eviscerated in weeks I'll stay away. Yeah, I know every person treats their phone differently and results will vary, but if anyone can post a pic of this case and how long its been in use I would appreciate it.

And yes, I'm still looking for a 100%-CLEAR TPU case for this thing.

Received the Ballistic today. That is one nice case! The Diztronic is great for minimal protection but I definitely feel like my phone is more safe with the Ballistic. It is also a whole lot easier to hold IMO.

Just chiming in re: clear TPU cases - my suspicion is that they don't want you complaining about a yellow/brown case down the road - I had a clear (frosted) Diztronic for my Moto X (2013) and it was pretty gnarly looking after <1 year of use. I complained to them about it and they said that's how clear TPU works. Apparently non-frosted would be even worse. Diztronic has a disclaimer on their listing noting this.

Thanks, I appreciate you chiming in on this. I had (have) a frosted TPU case on my Nexus 4 (i-Blason) for almost three years. While it doesn't look quite as bad as your case, it definitely "yellowed" some over the years. I can appreciate the standpoint of Diztronic (and others) but come on. We're all grown-ups here. If my $10 hard plastic case cracks because I dropped it, that's OK. If my $10 TPU case yellows over a couple years, that's OK. I'm willing to accept the shortcomings of cheap cases because the cases are cheap. But then again I'm not trying to make a living selling cases.

So I guess we just wait and see? : - /

Does clear hard plastic do the same thing?

Slightly off topic, but I see this thread's pretty active. Haven't checked here for a while - any update on tempered glass to fit this device? Or is it still pretty much the same bad options that don't fit? Thanks.

Supcase unicorn beetle pro. It's pretty much the same as an otter box. The built in screen protector gives off a rainbow distortion, which I've read is common. It's also a little bulky but I like the coverage the case provides for the screen. It does leave some sort of black imprint on the back of the phone but it wipes off easily. Not sure I like that....

I am currently trying out a tempered glass screen protector under the built in one. It doesn't lay down completely flat, but I don't think it's as bad as some of the reviews I've read about tempered glass. Plus with the case on you can't see it. It only cost like $6 off eBay. The seller is "Nextechn".

Touch sensitivity is a bit decreased with both protectors on but if I decide I like the glass then I will just removed the built in one.

Nice. Kinda reminds me of my Ballistic case. Is it easy to get off?

It's not too hard. A lot easier than the 2 piece cheap plastic case I had on my S5. I usually started at the headphone jack or charging port as it's easier to get it apart there. The phone actually almost snaps into the front cover, but very easy to remove.
