Moto X 2014 Cases!

Nah. I had my OG Moto X since the first day that MotoMaker deliveries arrived and never got a noticeable scratch on the screen. It's been quite a while since I used a screen protector.

Me too. I never used one on my OG Moto X, and the screen still looks new. I do like a bumper, though, for grippiness. That Hula bumper looks really good on your phone, by the way. It compliments the wood nicely.

That Hula bumper seems kind of thick in the pictures. How does it compare to other bumpers?

I'm no expert on lots of different bumpers, but to me, it's perfect. It provides just the right lip to grab onto and keeps the wood back from contacting any flat surfaces when you set the phone down. I wasn't planning to keep it on all the time, but I'm really liking it. I was up in the mountains hiking and stuff yesterday and I haven't taken it off yet.

On the previous X you couldn't really enter one handed text if the phone was resting on its back. It would kind of spin and wobble. I notice the same thing but to a lesser degree with the new X. Does the bumper provide full support so that it doesn't spin typing while the phone rests on a table?

Picked up a Verizon only clear plastic case with black tpu on the sides. Initially passed on it but with wood backs it really looks great. I hate losing the metal but the clear plastic looks like a clear coat polish on the wood. I'll try to snap some pics tomorrow.

Does anyone know if there were any wallet cases like this made for the original Moto X that I could expect for the new model?

not sure how well this concept would work with the x, as the back seems pretty curved, plus, the camera on the iphones is out in a far corner so makes it easier to accomplish that. but who knows, I could be wrong and something of this sort may pop up

The bumper is curved like the phone, so it still wobbles -- probably even more than the phone does when naked. However, the bumper is tacky enough that at least it doesn't spin.

When I ordered my phone only the teal and purple Hula cases were available to order, so I think I'll just grab the Tough Naked case when it's finally available. I just wish the clear TPU bumped on that case was colored, or at least the power and volume buttons instead of the chrome look.

Is that the walnut wood back?

Does anyone have the Gellicase yet? If so please post pictures. That Hula Bumper case is too bulbous for me and I want something thats thinner.

I've got the CaseMate Gellicase in dark translucent. In terms of fit and feel, I think it's excellent. Molded to the phone at a very high tolerance. Grippy in hand and is very sleek/low profile.

My only gripe is that I wish it was more transparent and without a shading. You can see my walnut backing, but just barely. It's like looking through a fog.. A case with this form and feel, but in transparent clear would be my dream case.

I really want to show this phone off more because it's absolutely beautiful. I am considering getting the hula case for this reason, but am concerned that case will be too large and bulbous.

I'm sort of considering seeing if I can use some acetone or polishing compound to remove the light bead blasting that's creating the textured surface.

Get the naked tough case. I'm thinking it's not going to be as bulky as the hula case because it has a clear cover over the back so the bumper doesnt have to be unnecessarily large to make sure the center of the phone doesnt touch a table or something when laid down.

I'm in India and I've only got two options: Diztronic matte TPU or Casemate Naked tough case. I like the diztronic but it'll cover the Moto logo. Casemate has a translucent bumper which isn't really attractive. Totally confused..

I ordered the Diztronic case yesterday night. Black matte. It should be here tomorrow or Wednesday. I will post my pros and cons with pictures! I like their cases over all from other devices. My friend has one for his N4 and its pretty basic but it works. I will use it until i get a good clear case.

I don't get why these guys don't make a slimmer thinner case/bumper. I just want something slimmmmm and sleek to not add bulk. For now I bought the vzw holster clip combo. The case portion is pretty slim but the down side is on covering the wood. Ohh well, it works for now.

Has anybody found a totally clear case without a bumper? I have a clear gel case on my 2013 Moto X, but the only ones I can find on Amazon for the 2014 Moto X either have a bumper, which I find ugly, or are frosted clear which mutes the colors.

This will come in due time. Its just that...Waiting for the phone to be out more for the general public. At time moves forward we will see more cases. Thinking Case-mate or someone will make one!

I'm currently using the Cimo Flexible Soft Case for Moto X (2nd Generation, 2014) - Clear (Amazon.com: Motorola Moto X (2nd Generation) Case, Cimo [Wave] Premium Slim TPU Flexible Soft Case For Motorola Moto X (2nd Generation, 2014) - Clear: Cell Phones & Accessories) which was super cheap and definitely doesn't add to the bulk, but it too is frosted on the back. I was thinking about the Gellicase, since it looked perfect, but it's got the same issue apparently. Using the phone naked just isn't an option for me, since the back is just too slick and I have visions of it flying out of my hand.
