I'm in the same boat. Did you sign a 2yr contact extension for your order?

I did with VZW thru Moto Maker and I'm wondering what happens to my upgrade eligibility if I cancel the Moto charge with my card company and reject the phone... if they ever do ship it?

Anybody familiar with VZW policies know my options here?

I believe verizon will be notified of the extension when the phone ships. I am basing this on the fact that I added a line through moto maker and verizon has no record of that yet (phone wont ship for 2 more weeks).

Once the upgrade hits your verizon account you have a 14 day period to cancel with verizon. Returning the phone to motorola will not automatically cancel your upgrade or new line.

I am not certain of this, but it is the safest route. Watch your verizon account, call them as soon as you see any indication that your contract renewed.

I've been badgering them on twitter. I think we all should this do this. They offered me a credit the other day by asking me to select a accessory, when I sent my requests back they stopped responding to me. It has been 3 days now.

Yesterday I linked them the thread here where people were like WTF Motorola support and they actually answered me. Support contacted me and said they would be getting right back to me. I would wager that twitter is connected to a different branch than the support team. If we raise enough ruckus on twitter we might be able to get a real answer. It only takes a couple seconds make sure to tag motorola and motorolasupport . Motorola support is likely the handle for the support team but Motorola is their main twitter tag. Support will seek to segregate tweets about bad service from their main tag, tag them both on every response.

Making this thread public could result in nothing but it could also create enough awareness at the motorola executive level that something gets done. I for one am about ready to bail on these guys, I'd sure like to see them fix this mess.

Also I am not trying to get this HashTag trending #MotoWaitGate Please use it if you tweet to them.

It's settled, I'm canceling the charge with my credit card company and rejecting the shipment. Ordered the same on 9/30 and still no contact from Moto and still showing a 10/23 ship date. I am a patient man but I won't permit anyone other than the IRS to hold my money hostage without delivering the agreed product and paying me interest or compensation for tying up my funds.

Still no update on mine. Straight up lies from them, no one know when they will ship. I am really starting to doubt if I even get this damn thing by the 17th now. If I do I keep it if not I will be throwing it back at them. I really like the feel of the phone but don't matter when you have been patiently waiting for the phone and there is no word from these guys other than the bull**** memory delay when other people with same memory module got their before me while ordering after me. I have no problem with people getting their phones fast but it seems like some of our orders are just sitting there and someone forgot to pick them up. LOL

Ordered mine on the 18th. Still nothing but excuses, everytime I talk to them oh it is ready for release, it means fedex is picking it up soon. Not true!

Motorola reps have zero idea what is going on. It's quite ridiculous that I haven't gotten any communication from the company since I received the "Assembling it" email on the 30th...

I didn't even get assembling yet and I order on the 1st.. This is really stupid.. Ima keep thing phone but wtf make enough for the lunch my friend got his thrusday and order it monday same thing as mine.. I don't understand why they cant get things str8ght

The pure editions are made on the t-mobile line, which means you receiving your order is dependent on the surge of people deciding to upgrade, the materials chosen and what other bits of customization done. So, if you decide to have the back engraved, that means an extra step and other logistics in the build.
AT&T only has two variant's so that makes it real easy to crank out and stock those phones. Verizon allows customization but no pure edition so they get there own dedicated assembly line.

I'm hoping part of the delay fixed the peeling wood and leather issue people have posted pics of. But my guess is its simply high demand.

Got the assembling email 3 hours later but nothing yet from Moto or FedEx. With all of the comments about early delivery I was hopeful I would get it before the delivery estimate. I guess I can't complain since they haven't broken any promises to me (yet).

So dissatisfied with the feedback provided from the reps. I'm getting jerked every which way and to no avail. I decided to go with this phone to replace my iPhone 5, but with the customer service and the unresponsive tendencies, I've made a conscious decision to go with the Xperia z3v. I really felt like I was taking a hit with the no memory card slot, and the (13 mgpxl) camera, (2gb)ram and (2300 mah) battery. But the Xperia (20.7 mgpxl, 3gb ram, 3200 mah supports 128 gb sd card) is worth checking out if Verizon is your carrier. Unfortunately I will not be able to experience the Moto x, but hopefully I will experience better than my expectations. I hope the phone met the expectations to those that actually received it.

Motorola has dropped the ball, I contacted them to change the address since the website wouldn't let me. I contacted them to change it I was told I couldn't since the order was being processed. Called back the next day they were able to change it. ???? I don't get it... Still no word of shipment... So the Xperia release is 10/23 so check it

Unfortunately I will not be experiencing the moto x due to the horrible wait and service, but I hope everyone who received it enjoyed it though the idea is innovative. Also unfortunately I've become a spec ***** while waiting....

Moto customer service is abysmal. I learned this the hard way back when I had the dev edition Moto X. I sent it in to get it repaired/replaced. I waited a month and never heard from Moto on the update of my repair or replacement. Multiple phone calls never got me anywhere. Finally decided to post my ordeal on Moto's forums and a rep sent me a replacement that day. So basically in order to get anywhere with Moto you have to make a big deal out of it.

Are European deliveries exempt from those delays? I ordered mine (32gb black front, walnut back, dark grey accents) yesterday and the estimated shipping date is 10/20/14.

You know, I feel bad for people who ordered a ways back and have not yet received their phone, while others who ordered later have already received theirs. However, I can't help but feel that the majority of people complaining here would have nothing to complain about if they had not read about faster ship times for some people. I'm reading posts from people upset that their phone hasn't shipped, when the original estimated arrival date is still over a week away. I understand the want and need for your new shiny, but sitting here reading posts from lucky people who got theirs already and fuming because yours hasn't arrived early seems rather unhealthy and counterproductive.

Once I order mine you can bet I'll be avoiding this thread like the plague *unless* my ship date comes and goes with no phone. If the phone is actually late, that's a legitimate beef. Otherwise I'd just be torturing myself.
