I'm in no rush yet to get my phone as my Note 2 is still kicking but, planned obsolesense has begun.
If my phone was broken, I would be pretty ticked off getting delays on my order.
There are plenty of blogs from the end of September talking about Motorola's delays.

Mine was Crimson back with black front, 32 GB Pure edition with T-Mobile SIM. Just got off chat with support, still no clue as to when it will ship. They did send me a $25 coupon to the Moto store. I'll check again in a few days.

Thanks for the update. The funny thing about the $25.00 coupon is that I believe you have to pay shipping on any order below $75.00. LOL Moto is sticking to their Moto X customers as an annual tradition

Good news: ordered mine (Verizon 32gb, black front, ebony, purple trim) on the 27th (roundabout 3-4am) and just got a shipping email from Motorola. Can't use the Fedex trick cuz I sent it to the office. Anyway, I now have a tracking number and it will be here Wednesday!

also black front 32gb ordered 9/27

moto site still says not shipped, and there's no email from motorola (as the multiple reps claimed I'd receive). No biggie, I guess it's one of those love/hate relationships ;-)

Just got my FedEx notification as well. Verizon 32GB black front, black leather back. Ordered the 28th.

you do need a fedex account, but you do not need to do Fedex Insight, only fedex Delivery Manager

Fedex Insight also enables you to track orders coming in, but those are orders in which you have given a vendor your fedex account number so that they can ship using your account and $$ - you need to tie a credit card to Insight feature - (again this route is not needed, though I added it so people wont get confused)

Cliff, and any others who'd like, use this link, FedEx Delivery Manager - Customize Your Home Delivery
Sign up (free), you verify some small amount of info so it knows it's you, then anything coming your way you will see.
Go into the settings and you can have fedex either email or text (i think) the package info.

Plus, use the same link I provided for checking on package through fedex site. If you type in "fedex Delivery Manager" in google it will take you to the same site but it will be "https" , and there may not be a login button (at least that's how it's on my end), so you can either remove the "s" from the link address in the address bar or simply use the link I posted above.

Ordered black leather, black front, gold accents, 32GB Pure Edition on the 19th for delivery on the 13th. On the 9th I got the email telling me it will be delayed until the 17th.

Still no phone in hand but today I got an email congratulating me on my new MotoX. >.< My favorite part of the email is this:

Based on what I've seen over and over on this forum, it will be the case. My reasonable expectations for a smooth purchase/fulfillment process have killed my enjoyment of ordering this phone. I'm already planning on returning it without opening IF it ever makes to my house.

I am signed up with FedEx for Delivery Manager and have received a tracking number. Overnight shipping, should be here tomorrow. It looks like they are fixing the problems.

Been getting a few email updates from Motorola. Placed the order on Sunday evening, received 2 updates since then. I hope there are no issues with it.

I got email from FedEx via delivery manager. Got something coming from Motorola. I have two orders I don't know which one it is though lol. Hopefully it's not just the case, hehehe.
