Moto X Battery Life

Got my Moto X last Wednesday. First three days the battery was not great - down to 25% after 10 hours. Last night after 14 hours and 20 minutes, I was at 49%. Hope this continues to get better.

I'm blown away by the battery life. This is the best of any smartphone that I've ever owned.

I'm getting 14-16 hours with 4-5 hours of screen time and 20-25% battery still remaining.

I've had the phone only a few days so far but I'm loving it.

Looks like you partially charged it twice before that screenshot....

If it was so useless then why reply?
Helped you pass at least 10 minutes of your useless life.

Meaningless makes more sense. As in - in a thread about battery life posting a screenshot of your usage that includes two charges is meaningless.

My battery life has taken a dump since I installed the active notification update and SwiftKey update..... And by dump I mean I don't get a day and a half with 20% left anymore. Looking at the batt stats its obvious that the phone is awake much more than it used to be. I'm going to uninstall twitter (which I recently installed too even though sync is off) and see what happens.
Is there a wakelock detector that works with KK? I might have to root...didn't want to, was glad this phone performed like it was but wasn't...damn.

Edit: just uninstalled the active display update....Golly I hope it works

I don't know. I'm just using it like I use other phones. TBH, I was home most of the day and on wifi when this occurred. Since then I have been putting in a lot of time behind the wheel streaming Pandora via bluetooth on 4G. When I do that I keep it charging so I haven't had a chance to see how long the battery would last.

Moto X loses lot of juice when idle. I have Atrix HD which can easily last 3 days with 3hrs screen time but Moto X never ever lasts more than 18hrs.

You gonna hold his tool for him too on his next trip to the lil boy's room?

Just to refute useless and meaningless - plugging in USB to transfer files may show as a 'charge' but actually has little impact on battery life. Usage and life is almost identical. Ijs

I haven't updated to 4.4 but I did update the active notifications and Twitter and camera. no battery issues here still getting great battery life

Q10, HTC One, Nexus 7, Moto X

Mine wouldn't update to 4.4 when I got it because of corrupted bootloader and recovery from the factory. Once I flashed the stock images it updated smoothly. I get plus 24 hrs consistently.

Do you all leave wifi and gps on all the time? I have to admit, after smart actions on motos last batch of phones, it has me lazy about turning it on and off. How do you best automate toggling these settings to extend battery life?

Relax, tough guy.

Your first post shows a ~20% partial charge in the middle of your cycle. That skews the rest of the statistics. No one said they were wrong -- just irrelevant.

Your second post, however, is more helpful. Thanks for posting. Save the angst next time.

Yes I do. I guess it's because I'm always close to a charger. I can't wait until I need the charge to last a long time. I'll shut down both and put on Battery Saver.
