I don't believe you can. Perhaps there is a hack available for rooted phones.

moto maker lets u do that but apart from that u might need root.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah. I've tried everything. I bought mine from the Verizon store, I never set the name. But for some reason my greeting name is a lowercase "s" that's it, just a "s". My question is why or how did my greeting name just be the letter "s" . Stupid we can't change that stock..

It can be cleared on factory reset. You can also change it if you have the Android tools installed (no root necessary, though):

How do I change the banner greeting?

To display or change your greeting:
1. Press OK > Settings/Tools > Settings > Display > Foregrounds > Greeting Banner.
2. To change the greeting text, scroll to the greeting and enter text using your keypad.

To turn off the banner, scroll to the Greeting Banner check box and press OK to clear it.
3. Press Done (left softkey).

I just erased mine while reseting fabric configuration, and theres no going back, I've already checked with motorola so if you do this you can get rid of that greeting!
