Moto X Pure Edition/Moto X Style vs. Nexus 6P

So really the only true difference is SD card and Fingerprint scanner.

GSM Arena has the Nexus 6P PPI: 518
GSM Arena has the Moto X PPI: 520

It's different :p

lol :D

Yeah, one screen may be a mm longer on the diagonal... haha

Don't forget the 6P has a HUGE battery, much huger than the giant battery in the MXPE.

Re: Moto X Pure Edition... Like It or Love It?

I LOVE it so far. I don't think you're going to go wrong if you switch, but for me one phone being awesome doesn't make any other phone more or less awesome. We have to buy what we like and love what we buy. The alternative is maddening.

True it does and also the fingerprint scanner. My issue is I am not a fan of AMOLED. I had one and well I got burn in on it.

I'm sure that someone posted this somewhere, but it seems that the 6P camera is a bit of a rockstar: DxOMark puts Nexus 6P in 2nd place, beats G4 with same scores - SlashGear

Edit: Chart mine, data theirs:

Love is a strong word, but my MXPE and I are getting along *very* well. Turbo charging is spectacular, the clean OS has always been a preference of mine, and I really like the Moto additions. This may just be the first phone I keep for more than a year lol.

Ashamed to say this but it was the Verizon Galaxy Nexus lol (probably not the best phone to base things off)

I had three of those, never had a burn in issue but there were A LOT of people who did. So.. AMOLED has come a long ways, but if you like something better that's cool. I think that the future of screen innovation is tied more to AMOLED than IPS LCD - but we're buying phones now, not in the future.

Yeah but I think I heard someone say the keyboard is burned in on their Nexus 6 (last years model). From the people I have talked with it seems that having a fingerprint scanner is a nice to have.

The issue is I can get the 64GB Moto X cheaper than the Nexus 6P 64GB plus I can expand the Moto X Pure.

Eh, get the Pure. I have one... it's awesome. :) This is like picking between a 5 star Ristorante and a 5 star Restaurant. Either way there's something good to grab.

Yeah I am leaning more towards the Pure. If the Nexus 6P was 5.5 it would make it easier to decide.

had a galaxy nexus then a nexus 5...now got my xpure.

nothing in the 6p makes me want it:

More expensive
Cant customize colors
Probably inferior camera
No SD card slot
No moto notifications
No moto assist
Inferior screen (PPI)
Not a AMOLED fan yet (have a 2014 moto X I use for work, the IPS screen is far better than its AMOLED)
No turbocharging

None of the above make me want a 6p. I thought maybe i MIGHT want a 5x just to drop a little size, but its even more off the specs, so thats a no go.

- it is only $50 more if you go with 32GB mxp..$25 more if you choose leather or wood

- DXOMark ranks the camera only behind the S6. Beating LG G4 nd IPhone. Of course this is just one review but I think it will be atleast on par with MXPE

- It has active display (moto notifications)

- it has "always listening for google command even with screen off" like the MXPE

- it seems to have a better screen (viewing angles on MXPE is not so good (borderline bad)

- it has turbo charging / quick charging

Most of what you said it doesn't have, it actually does. In addition to being nexus so quicker updates, finger print sensor for android pay, arguable better build, faster processor, a bigger battery, better ram (LPDDR4 vs LPDDR3) I think the MXPE uses LPDDR3 not sure.

Only advantage with the MXPE I can see is MicroSD. However for all the advantages the Nexus 6p have, It is worth the extra $50 imo.

OK ,I think my MXPE is pure awesomeness.... And I love it too :D Ya can't really go wrong with as mentioned. The 6p sounds interesting tho

Easily Moro X better customization and a micro sd card slot and a better price tag. Also the nexus again has no LED notification which is another bummer

The 6p looks like Nexus and HTC just decided to create a phone.

Both nexus devices have LED lights.

Re: Moto X Pure Edition... Like It or Love It?

Just my opinion but I Really Really Like the Pure . I came from the Droid Turbo so the difference is not too much. I like the Moto additions on the mostly stock Android. It seems to me most of the features on the 6P are close to the Pure. if someone bought me a 6P I would love to try it. [BOX]:p[/BOX]

My Moto X Style has a leather back, my first leather backed phone and I love it so I'll be sticking with Moto this time round. I've kind of had enough of metal phones tbh - I'm OCD (like all of us) and would have to put a case on it to avoid scratches, dents etc - but with my leather back, it looks better with age.
