Moto Z Play - 5G Wifi Drop

[AC Question]

Recently my phone has not been able to stay connected to 5G Wifi when I arrive home. It has no issue with 2.4G stability, and if I do a restart on the phone it can hold 5G until I leave/return at which point the problem reappears. The router provides 5G to my laptop and all other devices without issue.

I've tried using WiFi On/Off and Airplane mode with no success, my only options at this point for consistency seem to be 2.4G or restarting everytime I return home.

Welcome to Android Central! How far is the phone from the router? 5 GHz gives faster throughput at the expense of range. Also, have you tried rebooting the router by unplugging the power for 10 seconds?

Typically less than 20 feet unimpeded. However, even sitting right beside it, the issue persists. Router restart doesn't improve the situation. Thanks for your suggestions! Any other thoughts?
