Motorola Droid X- Pre Order ?

Do I have pre-order the Droid X if I want to buy it on the 16th? I heard Best Buy is out of pre-orders & I don't want to wait FOREVER like the Incredible. So can I walk right into a 'Premium Retailer' of Verizon Wireless on the 16th (release date I think) & pick up a Droid X? I doubt there will be a lot of people buying from there since there is a Verizon corporate store literally down the street + I doubt there will be a lot of people from my city to try & bombard the Verizon store at once. There wasn't even more than 15 people at the closest Apple store at the iPhone 4 launch.

No pre-order through Verizon. You can go to a VZW store on the 15th(release date) and hopefully get one. They are saying they will not have any stock issues but we'll see. I am ordering mine online!!!

If I order from Best Buy, do I have to buy a pre-order? D: & can I do an alternate upgrade there? One of my lines has an Annual Upgrade & I want it So the phone would cost 99$ since my upgrade was 2 weeks ago. So can I do that at Best Buy since it doesn't need rebates?

Annual upgrade pricing on the droid is 199

what ? the guy at the Verizon store said when I wanted to get a Motorola Droid (199$ at the time) would end up being 99$.

Only if you have a $100 New Every 2 credit, and New every two credits will not work with annual upgrades. Maybe I misread you, but you said that you were trying to use an annual upgrade on your account.

The phone is 299 with a $100 Mail in Rebate, making it $199 (this is what Best buy will sell it for, with NO Mail in Rebate)

The Droidx (and the Incredible) have a price lock on them, it's Called "Map" or Minimum advertised pricing. so the lowest they'll go without NE2 credits is 199

you only get a $100 upgrade if you are eligible for a NE2 and you haven't upgraded in awhile. All new NE2 upgrades are either 30 or 50.

How it works is something like this:
2yr upgrade=what you see on tv
1yr upgrade= 2yr price +70
NE2= 2yr price -your NE2 credit (30-100 dollars)

oh really? well my mom has been with Verizon for about 8 years, made almost all of the payments on time, but at least she pays them. What would Best Buy do? Like contact Verizon?

Best buy doesn't honor NE2 credits. so it would be 199 no matter what at best buy unless someone gives you an exception.

And NE2 credits are based on price plan more than they are Length of service

I was just on the phone with Best Buy & they said they would take NE2 Upgrades.. Maybe because my Best Buy hasn't gotten a lot of pre-orders so they would have a lot of time on there hands instead of a huge line.
