MP3 as ringtone

ok i have a mp3 on my sd card that i want to use as a ringtone. So when i go to settings and try to select it it only shows the ringtones that came with the phone, and clue how i can find this to use as a ringtone. I was able to find the mp3 with my music player but that is the only place i can find it.

play the song you want to set as your ringtone, while you're playing it press the menu button and you should see the option to "set as ringtone". After you click that you get three more options and pick whichever you like.

also check out Ringdroid. It makes it really easy to clip out part of a song and set it as a ringtone for the phone or an individual person. Very nice!

I second Ringdroid, I've used it to make a few ringtones and it has worked flawlessly for me. It also allows you to set them as notification sounds.
