It looks now like it'll be July 6th.

What makes you say that? That's the day that Mobile Hotspot has been extended to, but, by all accounts, that's totally independent of MR2.

when we turn off 4G/LTE and go to CDMA only does it take away our ability to do data/voice simultaneously over 3G?

I just tested this. I have the Mobil network set to CDMA only. I placed a call and while on the phone I ran a few speedtests. I was getting pings around 120ms and download speeds around 1.09 to 1.98 mbps.

So simultaneous voice and data works even when LTE is disabled.
