My Bionic

OMG, the pixels, the pixels!! Just kidding. Looks green to me! And honestly, I have the same issue your camera did when I get my face that close to the screen. My eyes just don't focus on the screen enough to see the pixels the way that the magnified pictures do. I tried on my X, I couldn't do it. Lol

Definite thanks for that vid though!

I agree. I'm hoping that those that mention the pixels are making a big deal out of nothing. Like someone said earlier, if you go looking for pixels and not using the phone for what it's worth, then you will probably find them.
Every device has pixels. I can even see them on my Samsung Tablet. I can't see them without my reading glasses though. As soon as I put them on, I can see them clearly. It doesn't bother me though. I can see them even more if I put a magnifier up to the screen.
If the Bionic pixels aren't too bad then I'd be content. Mainly because I will have a screen that's good on battery life, and viewable outdoors.

I like your taste in music sir. And it sounds pretty loud and clear. Of course it's lacking in the bass department, but the speakerphone wasn't made to play music anyways. But DAMN did that movie load fast. That was just like 5 seconds.
Oh, and when will we ever really see that much green anyways? Good to see that it truly is a Pentile display and there are ways to make it look bad, but in real usage, it's still usable on that page anyways? Won't break the desire to get this phone.

People have been asking to see stuff like that. That is Google music beta, not the stock player. I have about 10,000 songs uploaded. I love it. Showed green on pentile for someone. Wanted you to hear speaker, see netflix, and flash. It's like a mini hand tablet. Very thin and light. Pretty awesome machine.

That's the Google Music app? Hmmm something to look forward to then, I have like 2,300 songs uploaded to my cloud already in anticipation to use them on my Android phone :).
Seems like you're really enjoying it. I think I have to convince my mom to go down to Costco at 7:30am on thursday after I get off my first class to buy me this thing lol. Seriously...I got until 9am on thursdays to do nothing, so I might as well get my phone then XD

I personally feel that they're making a mountain out of a molehill, so to speak. Yes, when you compare it side by side with other phones, it may look liney. I went into a store to play with the D3 and DX2 though, and I found the screens to look beautifully crisp and vibrant compared to my DX. I've heard that the Bionic's screen is even better than the D3.

I don't plan on having my phone an inch from my face at any given time, and I don't plan on having it side by side to many other phones unless friends want to compare. It's good enough for me, and to me, that's what matters! I say if it looks good to you, don't worry about it. You're the one who will be using the phone :)

First, Thank you for the video and showing that page.

It looked to have some problems on the lines, as with previous pentile screens, but was fixed at certain zoom distances, and at the same time the actual pixilation didn't seem anywhere near as obvious as the other phones did, (the Bionic seemed far better than droidx2, at that same image, for example)... I wonder what changes Moto has made, because I certainly haven't been the first to say that the screen "seemed" much improved over the Dx2 pentile.

You have really put this phone as a contender in my eyes, thanks again for the video(s) and putting up with the mobs of requests for info/videos you are getting.

So Bionic gets 53,571 from Benchmark.

Here is comparison of how well it performed compared to other devices.

quite impressive given it seems to have more bloatware than SGSII (antutu shows that it only has 700 mb memory available while Galaxy SII shows 900 mb available ram )

Rooting and deleting those bloatwares should give Bionic even bigger advantage.

My friend has a Captivate and HATES it. Mostly just because it's SOOO buggy. And the phone started falling apart like a month into him getting it. Sure it's not a GSII, but the GSII is a European phone. Stop comparing the European version to the Bionic, we'll never EVER get it. The US versions of the GSII aren't quite as good as the European version.

I too also have a Samsung TV. It's a 52', and I love it, but it's not quite as good as Sony, at least on the software side. There's no game mode, it's missing a bunch of features I'd like to have. But it works, and looks great, and I got it for 50% off! It's better than my personal TV in my room.

Bionic looks sick. I have an Atrix and love it..AT&T sucks though! Anyhow, Sony's got NOTHING on Samsung TV's, if you have the right one. I have a UN55C9000 -- it is the thinnest, best color saturation, best 3D, AND just the best looking LED-LCD EVER MADE!!!! :-) ....IMHO.

I would like to thank bworley50 for all the videos and all the other good information in the forum. I ran across this site doing a search on the bionic as I'm looking to move from my Blackberry 8330. Used to think that was a good phone before seeing this. Some friends have Iphones and have looked at those, but much prefer this phone after reading about it and seeing the videos. Our corporate IT department is big into the Blackberries and Iphones but are opening up to Android phones now thank goodness. I'm shared the info with my wife and now will have to get her one too.

Thanks again for a great forum with such good info.

I've seen this before...but it looks like we're getting good browser marks lol. Whatever that has to do with anything.

Browsermark and Sunspider are largely CPU-bound benchmarks that give a good indication of web browser rendering/loading speeds. The scores put it on par with the current king of that benchmark, the D3 (Euro SGSII hasn't been tested other than the pre-release version).

This is an updated list:

The list no longer includes my OG Droid, but it gets a score of around 12000 on stock, and like 29000 overclocked. :(
