My Early G3 Issues

If you have a weak signal that explains the battery drain.

While normally I'd agree with you, my other phones survived my desk all day with plenty of juice left for the evening. Here's what I got sitting here:

+1

So funny how owners have completely opposite issues. ART fixes this and that! No ART did this and that! Battery is awesome! No battery sucks donkey b***s!

Can't wait to get mine and find out which chocolate in the box I receive lol

Hmm, maybe have Verizon CS do their signal reset process. They've done that over the phone for me when I had them years ago and it worked. Just call from another phone than your G3

The other phone had another radio. In that location it may survive better.. Whereas the G3 can maybe survive better in another.

It's hard to expect the exact experience with every phone.. Different hardware and radios.. But usually a huge drain and weak signal go hand in hand.

As I said, normally I'd agree. Low Signal = Poor Battery. However, I've had the following at my same desk as the G3 with no battery drain:

Razr Maxx, Razr Maxx HD, Sammy Galaxy S3, HTC One Max, HTC One M8, LG G2.

That would be my guess to the battery drain. I'm always 4G and getting 20mg download speeds avg.

I'd reset it anyways if I were you. I'm using ART no prob. From what I read ART is suppose to help battery life.

That's why I said different phone.. Different radios. You have a weak signal and drain... Others don't have weak signals and I haven't seen many people complaining.

Just saying that's usually the cause. Go exchange if you can.. You may have a faulty phone.. That's always a possibility as well.

You probably have a rouge app that may be killing your battery and affecting ART. I have used ART on Moto X, Nexus 5 and now G3 without issues. I have had my G3 for 8 days now and the battery life is quite good for my medium usage which is 50-55% remaining after 12 hours starting at 7 am.

Can't be a rough app. I did a FDR this morning. Took it off the charger an hour ago and I'm down to 80%. I believe it's going to have to go back :(

Apparently Verizon devices and ART don't mix well. I had to factory reset mine back to Dalvik because of freezes and my phone randomly turning off because it said the battery was "dead" every few minutes. I have had zero issues since.

Well I'll give it the weekend and see if it clears up. FDR done this am, so hopefully that helped. It's down to 75% now just sitting here though with 0 use. Maybe it'll clear up after a day or two...

So after the FDR yesterday at 10, it lasted all day and had plenty left last night. Today I've watch some NetFlix, listened to some Sirius and done some light game playing and email reading. It's been off the charger since 6:30am and I still have 65% left. I'm going with ART was my problem. Think I'll keep it ;)

Verizon user here. I came across this site researching another issue and decided to try ART. My phone got very warm and twitchy, and dropped 2% charge in the first five minutes use . Needless to say, I've switched back.

My Android OS keep awake has been far too high. Not sure what the issue is. I don't want to have to do a reset, but I might have to. Battery life isn't awful, but it isn't great either. Definitely not as good as it should be.

How high? I'm not really sure what I should be comparing it to as I never paid much attention to this with my S3. Trying to monitor on my G3 now. It seems to high to me as well (Android OS almost 5 hours for keep awake).

I've used the ATT G3 on ART. It was fine.
Verizon's is utterly broken on ART. I don't know why, but DO NOT USE ART ON THE VERSION G3.
