My experience using both a Nexus 4 and LG Optimus G (a comparison)

They're both store displays so stock OS, stock settings, both loaded down with junk. They should be relatively equal with "junk".

So you're assuming that every customer who comes and installs crap apps and messes up settings on one device goes over and does the same thing to the other?
 
Your review seems to hint at something said in the Engadget review of the N4 - they did some comparisons and benchmarks.

we believe the skewed results are a by-product of optimizations in stock Android 4.2 that improve perceived speed and user experience but negatively affect benchmarks. We hope this concern gets resolved in a future firmware update.

So, pure android optimizations might be buggy - as we have seen with run away looping processes and battery issues. Some other things are explained in the review relating to optimizations that you can disable (phone dialer being one).
