My First 24 Hours with the Revue and Google TV

The free cable small box doesn't come with HDMI output however there are converters. With the free cable box, I am not sure the GTV cable identification (such as classifying news channels) functions will work, but the Live TV button may work with the HDMI conversion.

They had one of these left at Best Buy so at $99 I picked it up. I figured if I ended up not using it much I was only out 100 bucks. I like it and I think it has potential, but having played with it I would not have paid $299 for it. It's a steal at the price it is now.

Got mine and have been playing with it. There's a ton of potential in it. What Logitech needs to work on:
  • Harmony Android App. Seriously the interface sucks. It's obvious (to me at least) that the software is alpha stage, with no icons, designed to test basic functions.
  • Documentation. Seriously we get better documentaion with our phones in the Quick Start pamphlets.
  • Harmony-like activity shortcuts with the Revue keyboard. It's possible it's there already but who knows with the crappy documentation
  • Ditch FishNetwork. Seriously. I work for Comcast. Right now they're wasting tons of money trying to develop their own "smart tv" solution. Offer it to Comcast / TWC / Verizon for a licensing fee + ongoing support. Win

I currently use a Harmony 880 IR remote with all my stuff programmed... ie appleTV, cox DVR, DVD, Media Player.... can I throw the revue inline with my dvr and tv, and use it with my harmony 880? i know you can do it, but im not sure how much you lose using a remote control as opposed to the keyboard.

also, with the interface, if i say "watch TV" on my harmony with the revue inline, will it immediate go to my cable box, or will it go to a screen selection of what to do on googleTV?. Basically will my fiance be able to "watch tv" without having to make additional selections?

I ditched satellite almost a year ago, been receiving over the air, haven't looked back.

I recently took Comcast up on a discount for my cable modem, saves $500 over two years, and it includes basic digital cable. Today I got the 'receiver' box but there is no HDMI port, only coax. Does anybody know of a coax to HDMI converter so I can set it up through my Revue?

On the Hulu issue posted earlier, there is a work around I have been using, it's called PlayOn, you install it on your computer and Revue can access it as a web page, then you are online with your Hulu subscription.

If you got "BLAST EXTRA" then that is all you get. If you have standard or above you would still need to rent an HD cable box for like $10 a month
