My first phone review ever (HTC Incredible)?.

Bandit, have you tried charging your Dinc in the car & listening to music using the car's speakers? (I have an audio input jack in my car, but I hear a humming noise when I hit the gas pedal).

Also, do I really need a case/skin for the Dinc? I mean, I'm very careful with my devices. What does the back off the phone feel like? Is the case slippery? Or does it grip well?

The winding sound you are hearing when hitting your gas pedal is caused by a unshielded cable somewhere. It could be your RCA cables if you have any of your cable going to your phone. It isn't the phone I don't think.

As far as if you need a case it's all up to user opinion. Personally I always try to put at least a slim case like an Incipio Feather or a Seidio Inno II on my phone for just enough protection. You don't need like a Otterbox level protection unless you are careless with your phones, clumsy, or over protective. SO it's really up to you if you need one of not.

Me, Too

Thanks so much for the time and thought you put into your review. You said a lot of what I was already thinking. I have been with Verizon for a long time and my previous phone was not a smartphone, but an LG clamshell 8700. The difference between a "cellphone" and the Droid Incredible is just stunning. ;)

Well...
My DInc has been going strong since I got it. I have gotten 2 other people to purchase an Incredible so far. They both love theirs.

The only problem I have seen so far...

The stock music player I could not get to work properly. It would skip and play random stuff. I switched over to Real Player and Double Twist and have not looked back. No problems at all.

Since I upgraded to 2.2 my phone just appears to be a bit 'laggy'. I was using Handcent SMS with 2.1 and I loved it. Since 2.2, Handcent just got verry slow and I went back to the stock messenger. The phone just doesn't seem as fast since 2.2. My friend feels the same way.

I love to move forward and I love upgrades, but I just wish I had 2.1 on the phone. Maybe it's something that I am doing wrong. I still LOVE the phone and have not been able to put it down.

I still wish we had a desktop dock like the Motorolas have...

Lastly...
I did see the Droid X come out and I just loved the idea of the bigger screen. I had to see it and hold it, though. i went down to Best Buy and the Verizon store and held it and used it. I did love the screen size but the phone just felt too big. I still think a 4 inch screen would be perfect. The new Samsung comes out soon and I beleive it has a 4 incher, but I am not sure. When it comes out I will have to go down and play with it. It would take A LOT to pull me away from the Incredible!

But I am always looking at the next (possibly)best thing. For now the Incredible fills all my needs for size and usability. Some nights I just want to lay in bed with my Incredible and give it a kiss goodnight. I think the old lady may draw the line at that. She is already pissed that I hold the phone more than her lately.

Granted, I have never used an IPhone or the Moto Droid or any Blackberry, but if they are better than this Incredible phone ( lol ), I would like to try it for a few days.

Good review ,I can help you on this part , no you already have a better phone as of this date on that phone :p lol.

I got an dx as well but I would not have gave my incredible up for it , it is a nice phone but I do like the size better on the incredible for portablity .I can stick the incredible in my pocket and cant even tell its there the dx you can . I might actually give up the dx for the new htc phone(4.3 screen, that resembles the evo) that they showed on Android Central the other day tho, but plan on keeping the incredible even if I did.
