My Gear S charging cradle doesn't fit anymore, had to send all to Samsung Support to resolve

I bought my Gear S 2 months ago on the day it came out in the US. I agree, it is sad that Sammy won't send out a new charger. The charger is a terrible design but the Gear S is great! I would recommend anyone considering buying the Gear S to purchase it through a mobile carrier and not through Samsung.

I just checked the samsung site I ordered an extra cradle from for 29.99. Didn't want to keep forgetting it downstairs, so bought another for my nightstand. Just google samsung gear s charger cradle.

Everytime I attempt to order from Samsung direct it would say the item is back ordered.

Just want to THANK you again for that information. ;)

Tmobile is top notch.

They are sending me another Charging Dock for the Gear S for $7.99 that is for 7 day shipping. I could have paid more and got it earlier.

Now, I know why I am a Tmobile Fanboy!!;)

Maybe there has been a modification to the early manufacturing runs or variation in the mouldings. . . but for the record my charger fits very easily and with a reassuring click when engaged. Seems perfectly well designed in my case.

Mine was snapping in well for three months until my watch started running low and I put on the charger and placed it in my backpack. I went to take the Gear S out of my backpack and the charging cradle was no longer attached and one of the clips on the charger was cracked causing the charger cradle not to attach to the Gear S. Fitting correctly is not the issue. It's the cracking plastic clips, I wish they would have designed a cradle for the Gear S like the first Gear.

UPS just dropped off my package. I opened it and it was just the charger that plugs into the wall. No Gear S charging cradle, T-mobile customer service people are not up on all there products. I explained to the customer service rep for 20 minutes she told me she is sending out the gear s charging cradle. I'm calling tmobile again hopefully I'll get a knowledgeable CSR this time and I'm not paying for shipping again. :(

Update, T-mobile customer service rep told me that they do not carry the cradle. I would have to order it through Samsung or purchase one from Best Buy.
T-mobile will reimbursement me for the shipping cost once they have received the wall charger.

Best Buy does not carry the Gear S charging cradle by itself. I ended up ordering one for $55.99 using my amazon prime account. It should be here by Wednesday. Hopefully they will ship the correct part.

I also checked with Samsung and as DAS said "the Gear S charging cradle is on back order".

I think I better check on mine too.

A lot of people complained about the cradle on the original gear (unjustifiably in my opinion), but it actually is very easy to use, and has less points of failure, than the cradle used on the Gear S.

The cradle on the Gear S makes me a nervous Norton every time I attach and detach the watch.

I totally agree.

FYI There are some listed on ebay I do not know if they are official but they are shipped from overseas and $13 and $14 bucks...

Let me know what they say?

You were correct. They were sending me the charging unit that plugs into the wall and has the micro usb on the end. I quickly and gently scolded them. In the end, they told me to refuse the shipment of if they leave it, just send it back. They gave me a $20 credit for my frustration. They told me I would have to get in touch with Samsung to get that part. Well, with the $20 credit, I can still get one with my cost being $9 with my $20 credit.

I totally agree.

One has to use normal force, and don't go pass that. If it doesn't click, re position it. One thing for sure, DO NOT LET ANYBODY OTHER THAN THE OWNER attempt to ATTACH THE DOCK!!

Example, my wife is a natural bungler, she will mess up anything, and it is NEVER her fault. If I was to be crazy enough to lend her my Gear S and she had to charge it, I could just forget it. The dock would be gone, and If I don't act fast enough, the Gear S would be gone too.

I try to be real careful, and will not go beyond normal force. I just re-position it a couple time to it clicks...

I have the exact same problem. The clip on the charging cradle broke. I am also very careful with my devices and was unaware that it broke until it couldn't clip on one day.
Samsung will not honour warrantee on this because they say it is 'physical damage' . I am vehemently arguing that this did not break through any careless handling. The unit is very flimsy.
They MUST replace it. I am waiting a response from them.
I had the watch for barely a month now. How many of these crappy cradles will I have to go through???

I'm very careful with mine as well. Because of the many many reports here, I keep checking mine. The left clip is already down a little bit and a lil loose. I've had it less than a month (but it's a replacement watch). I'm gonna call AT&T and see if they carry the cradles. If not, I'm gonna order a backup just in case.

These tabs shouldn't be this easy to break. People over at XDA forums are stating the same problem. Hopefully Samsung well eventually own up to the problem and start replacing them. I don't own the gear s yet but this does make me hesitate on getting one.
