i just got a new unlocked gs7. i put in my at&t sim card. i set it up and phone works fine except in settings it does show where to turn on hotspot. also i keep getting an error saying activation not complete. i don't know if the two are related. thanks!

I had this issue with AT&T on another phone once. The hotspot was not possible for about 6 hours after I swapped phones. I had called AT&T and they claimed it was because I needed a new SIM that was explicitly tied to the IMEI number of the phone, but it "fixed" itself after a few hours. Hotspot is supposed to right below the Airplane mode on the main Settings screen. If it doesn't appear for you in a few hours, I'd give AT&T a call.
