So, my mother, completely ignorant to technology as it is, did not know or care about the Gingerbread update that hit the Droid X recently. I, bullheaded as I am, thought that seems not right, and did a little prodding to get her to update. (I figured Netflix would be a good carrot on a stick. Yes, I know there's APKs that anyone can download that work on "unapproved devices", but do you really think I'm going to point my technologically inept mother to XDA-Developers?)
Of course, being the guy in the family that everyone comes to for computer problems, she comes to me and says that her phone is getting worse battery life. She how she hasn't done anything differently (the only app she ever downloaded was Romote, IIRC, and I had to talk her through setting that one up... never again will I force a family member to check a router's settings). She hasn't installed any new apps... I, honestly, don't know what to tell her. Has anyone else noticed a change in battery life on Gingerbread? Anything I could recommend my mother that I won't have to do tech support for later?
