did you set up from scratch or use smart switch ?
is it snapdragon or exynos model ?
easier to help if you include as much info as possible

I had the same problem with my galaxy s8 plus as soon I would take it out of charge I would loose about 5% in 10 min. I sold that and got a iPhone X it's amazing and the battery takes me for over a day.

the 90-100% range I had go down quick on my Note 4, don't know if it is a trickle charge range of sorts but it didn't affect all day performance

My battery life is excellent. Loses maybe 1-2% overnight. I use my Note8 normal for me and end my 12 hour day with 50-60% left. Your experience in not typical.

I'd start by checking your apps since everyone else's seems fine. some app could be constantly pulling or pushing info out. a FR will do that too and then you can load them one by one to see what's going on. did you sync your apps instead of installing them?

Have you checked how much you lose per hour in airplane mode from 100%?

You're not really saying how much you lose in standby but for me overnight or idle I lose 1% every hour or two and I would consider that normal unless someone wants to chime in. Do a factory reset then charge your battery and see how it drains for a few hours. If you're talking something like 5% or more per hour on a clean phone then I'd lean toward a battery issue.

I've been happy with battery life on mine.

Battery life is beyond excellent. I started out with power saving on medium and have slowly turned battery saving features off and battery life is still excellent. I am now on full rez, full cpu, background data on and always on display off. The OP must have fubarred his phone or he's a troll. Most battery life issues are caused by people who install poorly designed apps without monitoring or limiting them.

Turn off the always on display if it's on that should save you a ton of battery, with always on display on my phone uses 20 percent of the battery in 10 hours its a joke. I love having it on but it kills my battery. Without it on my battery is a beast it's excellent.

My N8 gets me well into Day 2. Just amazing.

One thing to consider: after you do a factory reset, manually install just the apps you need - no more. The combination of limiting apps and making sure that everything installs fresh on your N8 provides a reliable baseline on which to troubleshoot issues on any phone.

I don't know about some of the posters but I recharge from 40% my Note 8 at least twice a day, its that hard a user of a phone. I'm getting approx 5.5 hours SOT, then again, the phone is only 2 months old. I mentioned before and I'll post again... Sammy's President saying we'll have 95% battery life after two years... complete b.s. lie and deception. Knowing this phone a little and previous Sammys... this 95% or even close will never happen, unless you baby the phone for one hour a day. 😏

I haven't seen that kind of a problem with my AOD. When I check my battery usage, the AOD accounts for only 1 percent of the battery usage.

Now a few things I do, may help. When I am not using my phone I turn the phone screen down, or place it in a pocket, which turns off the AOD. I keep a clock face on the AOD and avoid using a picture there which might consume more power. My brightness level is generally much less than 50 percent. Although you can't set the AOD brightness separately, it's level parallels parallels that of the main display. Of course, if brighter than it needs to be, the more juice it uses.

Having said this, I would bet that that OP's problem is being caused by a rogue app. He should use the phone in SAFE MODE for a day. If battery life is still bad, I would take it in for a battery replacement or phone exchange under your warranty. If battery life is good in Safe Mode, you will need to look for the rogue app. That app is more likely to be one you added that is running in the background, such as a security app, a battery saver, a launcher, animated wallpaper, etc. . Often these background apps do not show up in the battery usage statistics. Eliminate all of these and see if there is any improvement.

I had the same issue with one of my note 4 batteries. It dropped from 100% to about 90% very fast, then it drained as normal.
