you couldn't have the phone ported to your number an account? seems to me they should allow the person in the read to handle there own business and atleast sell the phone to pay the bill ?

Verizon Wireless rep told me nothing can be done to activate that phone due to the bad ESN. The ebay seller apparently runs an ebay consignment store and the person who sold him the phone says he doesn't have enough money to cover his verizon wireless bill.

Its been an absolute hassle to try to get back to Android and I'm just going to give up and wait until next summer/fall when my upgrade window opens. I don't feel like paying $500 for a Droid Eris through a Verizon store when new customers can practically get them for free. But thats the game . . . .

Lol, i feel for ya man. a while back i dropped a nearly brand new Motorola KRZR, i think this was 4 years ago. dropped it on my concrete floor in my garage, and it totally exploded. had to shell out nearly 300 for a new device. i will have insurance on my phones forever.

Thanks Tropper. Now I have a full blown addiction to searching eBay for Droid Eris phones. The voices in my head get louder and louder. "Do it! Do it!" .... "Don't be a fool - wait - wait!!"
