My power button not working when phone is on

[AC Question]

I have a Samsung Galaxy A3 and when the screen goes into sleep mode I normally press power button to illuminate screen again but it does nothing. Only way screen comes on is if I receive a message or phone call or connect a charger. Phone becomes useless when I'm out and about. Any ideas?
