My Rant on the iPhone 5s

I am sorry but the MP on a camera is not an indication of how good or bad the camera is, an 8MP could very possibly be better than a 12 MP camera, I recommend you read on the subject before commenting.

You need to learn to read. Same subject and circumstances. My camera in a photographer's hands will be better than the same camera in mine.

Jesus Christ... no, you still don't get it, that's not what he means. Pixel count is but one part of a camera's specs. What about the aperture? What about the lens? What about the sensor? What about the pixel size? Yes, in the hands of the SAME photographer, a 13 mp camera is not necessarily better than an 8 mp camera.

The large pixel size is what makes the HTC one camera good, despite only having 4 mp. Just one example of how mp isn't everything.

For the last time, actually read what was posted. That is not MY opinion, that is APPLE'S opinion.

The F? Why are you stating it in a way that makes it sound exactly like it's your own opinion? If it isn't, what's the point of even bringing it up? I read what was posted and never once did you say: "Apple has stated that Samsung tried to fool us into thinking their S3 was made of Titanium and not plastic." If you had stated it that way (instead of making it sound like it was your thoughts) I assure you I wouldn't have been confused.

Read the original post. It couldn't have been more clear.

I was being sarcastic. Parroting DroidArmy's idea that higher megapixels = better camera.

No. That was also a bandaid.

I never said higher megapixels means a better camera. Do you guys even read my posts? Ridiculous, you're manipulating my words. I said in this particular situation, not always. The HTC one does very good with a lower megapixel count (technically ultrapixels) . The Galaxy s4 camera has higher quality internals, and works rather nicely with the Galaxy s4. The iPhone certainly has a good camera, but it doesn't stand up to the Galaxy s4 or Note 3.

No it isn't. Jesus you don't stop.

Do you stop? No, you keep running your mouth on this thread. And yes it is, in this particular situation. Damn do I need an article to prove it? I would add one, but there's none out because nobody has had the phone to test it. As soon as there is though, I'll be happy to link one

I did. YOU said Samsung makes it so it doesn't look like plastic, and then in the next sentence you said: "Apple says if it's plastic it should look like plastic".

First off, those are two completely different points. Apple never mentioned Samsung trying to mask plastic, YOU did. Second, why again would you even feel the need to repeat what you PERCEIVED Apple to be saying? Sounds to me like you put words in their mouth to try to prove a point. If you hand an S3 to anyone on the planet, they will tell you it looks like plastic. No one is so stupid to be tricked just because there's a "brushed" effect. It isn't surprising that Apple would think their consumers are dumb enough to believe that based on the way they treat them however. (Not that they actually think that, because they never said it. You did)

Don't backpedal on your original post and then just say "read my post". Obviously I did. I quoted it. Everyone else can read it too. I've never seen anyone on here quote anyone unless they either agreed or disagreed. If you disagreed with what you perceived Apple to be saying, then say so. Then we can move on and be happy. If you agreed, then my point still stands. Other than those two things, why repeat what you assume they were saying (they didn't actually say that at all)?

Anyone can quote anyone else on a point that barely applies to the discussion, and then as soon as the idiocy of that post gets pointed out, just attribute it to someone else in order to save face. But everyone can see right through it. However, I will give it a shot. If you prove me wrong, I will just say that Samsung said it. Then no one will know it was actually me.

HAHAHAHAHA OK now you've really done it. The HTC One takes 4 MP ****s, Kevin would you like to chime in and tell us how good it is? Further more they increased the pixel size and decreased the aperture plus the lens has a larger surface area with a dual flash that can automatically adjust to more then over 1000 different lighting conditions plus image stabilisation gets seriously upgraded in this. The S3 camera has NOTHING on the iPhone 5S camera and I don't think the S4 does as well.

I know the bloody camera on the HTC one is good, I'm not stupid. I said IN THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION. And yes it does! Dammit I'm tired of arguing. I'm about to shove your iPhone down your throat in a minute!

Disabling the animations of a device is not a solution. A solution is Samsung fixing the animations to begin with.

Apparently every reviewer out there must be an ***** according to you, since the iPhone 5 is still at the top of the heap (1020 excluded) for smartphone cameras and its nearly a year old.

1020 excluded, that's nice. That proves my point right there. Apple doesn't make the best camera anymore.

It's a solution! Certainly not the best, but it works right? There's always issues with everything, even your precious iPhone. Do I need to bring up the data usage for AT&T at one point on the iPhone 5? What about the ongoing battery issue? iPhones aren't an exception to problems that occur

Have the opposite experience. My diehard apple friends are loving the picture quality on my s4. They are diehards but they are fair too.
How an 8mp can outshine a 13mp on the exact same subject and circumstances is baffling.

Qxr you are pretty much correct. It's possible for a high megapixel camera to perform worse than a lower one, but that doesn't usually happen. Also, looking at how Samsung built the s4 camera vs the iPhone camera from Apple, I can see why your friends like the s4's pictures. Specs are a tough thing to argue about, especially with cameras. Sometimes, but rarely, the specs don't mean anything. In this particular case they do though for the iPhone and s4

I disagree strongly. Do you seriously think "dumb" ex iPhone users suddenly got tech savvy when they got an Android phone? That's again, a pretty low **** from the Android fanboy team sorry.

A low but accurate observation. One of my favorite quotes from my friends over at Samsung is "it doesn't take a genius"

I think enough exposure to a GOOD android device can break the hold of the Reality Distortion Field which lets iOS users firmly believe their iOS devices are better. Once freed from the RDF those users often feel liberated...having a sense of euphoria.

It's like wine.... Tastes like it's great until you try great wine... Then all that other stuff tastes like vinegar.

Android comes crushing down on the Apple Empire of imprisonment and lackluster products. Once they see the light, they notice how dark and locked down ios really is.

Sources? Everything I've read puts them about the same, but with the S4 being better outside. Here's the conclusion of a review from an actual photography website:

Studio Scene (Low Light) & Conclusion: Super Shootout: Samsung Galaxy S4 vs HTC One vs Apple iPhone 5 vs Nokia Lumia 920: Connect

They place the S4 above the iPhone 5.

Again... higher quality internals? What internals are "higher quality"? Stop throwing around vague references like that and actually be specific and tell us what part of the S4 camera is superior from a component standpoint. Yes, if the iPhone and S4 had the same sensor, lens, etc. then sure, you can compare megapixels directly, but you can't. HTC's ultra pixels are simply larger pixels.

Thank you garublador! Man without some of you guys to help out on this thread I would probably slam my head on my desk from frustration

I'm pretty sure I said a while ago I'm done arguing with you because it was a waste of my time. I think I'm going to follow my original plans from now on. I don't have the proper information from Apple about the exact specifications of the iPhone 5s camera, so I can't cross compare. I feel like adding this in from an article though: Rich writes in his review,?Images captured using the 13-megapixel backside-illuminated sensor are superb and a huge bump up from what we saw on last year?s Galaxy S3. Colours are crisp and highly detailed, even when zoomed in for closer inspection.?

Translated: "No I can't provide any reference to the vague claims that I make about the s4 camera having higher quality internals". You argue like a 16 year old kid. If you can't cross compare and back it up, then don't make the claim. Just like all the BS regarding the fingerprint scanner from earlier in this thread.

Has anyone watched a demo version of the fp scanners? It's one on YouTube now, not Apples video. That scanner is a million times better than the one I had on my Atrix. The Atrix scanner isn't even in the same league. That's like PS4 vs Nitendo 64.
