My screen has a large dead spot on it. Help!

I dropped my phone in some water about 6 months ago and a horizontal dead spot formed. Before it used to be tolerable, but now I think it's expanding. My phone is a Nexus 4. Do you guys think I should seek a professional or should I just buy a digitizer and perform a DIY operation

Welcome to Android Central! Water damage can be insidious and widespread, so the problem is that if you replace the screen/digitizer, you might still find other problems.

If he hasn't had any other problems in 6 months, it's probably fine. You have to strip the phone to change the digitizer/screen, so if there is any hint of moisture in there, it will probably just dissipate, or you could put the parts on the window sill with the sun shining on them or rig a small fan to blow on them for awhile.
